Why Madaras Eyes are Closed

Madara's eyes are closed because he is no longer edo
edo brings you back at your strongest point he is now alive his eyes are not with him he doesn't have any
one of his eyes is stuck in Obito's head which is why black zetso was retrieving it and the other is hidden away or in the care of zetso hope this clears some things up

Then how do you explain his body still having Hashirama's abilities? Last time I checked he didn't have a giant face of Hashirama on his chest when he died, yet he was shown with it this chapter. He was even using Hashirama's sage mode via the face on his chest.

I doubt his eyes are missing. If he had to retrieve his original pair of eyes, then he's only get 1 back because Obito only has 1 of his Rinnegan eyes.

Not to the extend that he has now. I know he died with some of Hashirama's cells, because thats how he claimed to unlock the Rinnegan at his death. But he didn't slap Hashirama's face on his body when he died, that was something Kabuto did to his Edo Tensei body. Yet he still has it now, which negates the argument that anything he had as an Edo Tensei he doesn't have anymore.

eh most people are mistaken, Madara wasnt brought back to life to the way he was before death if he was then he would of been very skinny with white hair and all bones, if i remember correctly he never showed his true body or what he looked like under his clothes untill he was under kabuto's control, so you never know what madara did before he died ( the first time ), but having Hashirama's face on his left chest might be a side effect of being brought back to life with an edo body and also he does not have any eyes for the moment being since i believe he needs a certain amount of chakara to regain them ( i think ) thats why he is just sucking up chakara like no tomorrow

I know Madara wasn't brought back at the time of his death, I don't believe I ever said that (though if it seemed like I did, then my apologies). Madara was brought back in his prime, but he did not have Hashirama's face when he was living. Kabuto himself said that he had modified Madara's Edo Tensei body beyond his prime. Both Madara and Kabuto clearly acknowledged the fact that Madara's Edo Tensei body had in fact been modified with Hashirama's DNA (his face).

Here Kabuto tells Madara he's a special Edo Tensei, modified beyond that of his prime.

Here Madara looks DIRECTLY at Hashirama's face plastered on his chest and acknowledges that the face is a new addition to his body.

And once again, Kabuto is gloating that Madara has been modified. If you remember, Danzou also had hashirama's face plastered on his body. That was foreshadowing this moment here, showing that Kabuto/Orochimaru had the power/research to pull off something like that.

So, based on that it can be concluded that since Madara still has the DNA that his Edo body was modified with, that he still has whatever his Edo body has. Thus its safe to say that he is NOT blind, and that he still has the Rinnegan/EMS.
