madara accepted the fact that hashirama is stronger many time's in the past and dosen't care at all!

Look at the rivals

Vegata and Goku-DBZ (even though goku is stronger vegeta always tried to surpass him)

Sanji and Zoro- One Piece (even though zoro is stronger they compete with everything often getting equal results)

Light and L- Death Note

Naruto and Sasuke (no explanation required since this is a naruto fourm you should all know!)
