[Discussion] My One Piece Read Through Thread

Good stuff, I personally didn't enjoy the little garden arc , nor the next one drum island

It's all about your taste in action, I guess, but the Drum Island arc was great. It's actually the first arc in One Piece that made me tear up. You know what, I'm going to watch it right now just for the heck of it.

So a couple of random facts since you are now heading to the drum island arc.

The 4kids dub(its name should be not spoken of lightly because of the horror it has caused many) actually skipped the Little Garden Arc to get to the next arc. They did it mostly because they couldn't explain Nami running around in a bra to little kids. It also lead to Nami just appearing to become randomly sick and no explanation to it.

Also Laboon was completely skipped over and turned into an iceberg.

I'm so glad the funimation dub actually follows the story.

Anyways, be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster in the next arc.

-You know guys, this is why I love Miss Goldenweek. She's quiet and doesn't insult/smack talk others. She just does what she does and is cool. Couldn't help but notice she was the only one with a straight face and not looking like an jerk.

You know when i used to watch anime, those people who used to read manga always used to write in comments what is going to happen next and i was like WTF. They didn't even used to put spoiler alert and after getting spoiled once i used to just hop on to next anime episode without reading the comments. Eventually i gave up on anime and started reading the manga since i kinda like manga more and that way i can catch up faster.

Anyways, all i wanted to know is if you have the will to endure it and move on or will you get yourself spoiled.
Just a tip : DO NOT READ ONE PIECE WIKI .

If you don't understand anything or are confused, just ask here but do not go for wiki ( like i did, i regret it) . It also spoiled some stuff for me, so yeah, be cautious.

Things like those doesn't matter. A person with, say power level of 100 (Zr) can take down one with 65(2) or 80(1) or even 90 too. And that 90 is ''0".

So being consistently matched in the same strength order (Luffy = captain (therefore strongest) vs Strongest enemy, Zoro = "first mate" (therefore second strongest) vs Second strongest enemy, Sanji = Cook/Third mate? (Therefore the weakest of the three) vs Third strongest enemy.) Although the power gap between Sanjis opponents and Zoros are VERY small it still shows that Zoro will fight opponents who edge Sanjis opponents. And therefore Zoro is supposed to edge Sanji. This is what Oda has been trying to portray for a very long time.

And some bad news guys. The only reason I've been able to update so rapicly this week was because I've been on Thanksgiving Break, and school is starting again tomorrow. So from here on until Winter Break, I'll only be able to check in on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Don't bank on weekdays, but I may be able to go over a chapter or 2 sometimes.

However, I'll be back on track once I get my laptop and my job. I have internet at home but it's very undependable, so I'll be getting some service from a provider once I get my job.

And I've set a goal for myself! By Decemeber 31st, 11:59PM, I want to have reached chapter 300. Can I do it? Of course! But I'll need some support! So stay tuned and don't forget me.

And... that's about it. Probably won't be reading tonight either... got a busy, busy schedule. So yep, that's a wrap and I'll be seeing ya around!

But I just finished the Drum Island arc. It was very satisfying. Good characters, good development and all that stuff, and I like Chopper. He's a very unique character, in terms of both design and ability. He's strong too, nothing weak about him. I'm expecting great things from him. I also like Doc Trenu, his mentor/dad guy. He was very impactful and served a very good purpose.

Once again though, I hated the villain, so that was good. Couldn't wait for him to die. However there was 1 cliffhanger, kind of. As far as I know, they haven't cleared up who the new King will be. Maybe it was Dalton, but it wasn't confirmed.

And recently Ace was introduced. He seems like a pretty edgy guy, like him. And the new villain Mr. 2 is pretty cool too, I like him which is pretty weird. H's very standoutish as well which is a good thing. His personality is cool and his power is also cool, so he's pretty 10/10.

And I'm making another prediction, that he'll turn into the duck and cause them trouble. I don't remember the duck getting a arm band, so that'll make some trouble later. But I'll be finding out as I read, so I'll be back!

The Drum Island arc is one of my favorites actually. The emotional story between Chopper and the doc was just beautiful. I'm pretty sure you'll like the next arc, as well, so just keep reading!

Hiruluk has one of the greatest One Piece speeches, the one about death? Inspiring words! The arc is decent. Note this is by One Piece terms. Next arc will blow you away!

Yeah but there are things in that too. Many times one character is handicapped or gets low level of difficulty facing his opponents. The level of difficulty also depends on the fighting style of opponents. But no further discussion here. Not the right place to do it.
