The Regent made one hand seal which placed Hashirama under the spell of his illusion, however, the illusion's subtle nature made it appear as if everything was normal. Seemingly, without a pause, the Regent placed his palm on the ground. He released a stream of explosive tags hidden within with his chakra. They traveled towards Hashirama descretely in an attempt to converge on his body. The action of the Regent's hand seal and palm placement would appear to happen in a short sequence, but in reality, the stream of paper bombs had already begun their travel by the time Hashirama had begun to see the Regent drop to place his hand on the ground. The illusion placed on Hashirama, disguised the beginning of his action in a visual illusion that lagged his perception.

As they stream towards the target, they are undistinguishable from the ground, seamlessly merged with it. Nearing the target, they rise from the ground, "crawling" up the target. As they wrap themselves in lairs around the target, the user can choose when to detonate them, making a quicker, weaker detonation or waiting for more paper tags to pile in the target and adding more damage.
