This chapter was just amazing and as a Madara fangirl I was extremely happy to see Madara finally acheiving what he wanted to do (not to mention all those nice excited smiles of his)... but I can't help thinking and maybe this is a stupid question but now that Madara was able to revive himself..... does that mean Obito is technically dead?

I mean it's expected that he'll die but could it be possible he's alive? it would be sad to see him have died with out paying for his 'sins' (and he wanted to repay for his sins too)...

He's dead.

Are you sure though? they don't really show it clearly in the manga (unless I'm missing something)
and he's also still panting after doing 'Rinne Tensei'

It's possible he's alive rinne tensei only transfers life force. Bringing back just madara shouldn't kill him. The mass rinne tensei is certain death.

This, pretty much Obito and Black Zetsu fused... (Black zetsu being madara's will) and they've become a vessel in a matter of sorts for Madara to take over and "switch" as he's been saying.

So in a way, you could say Obito is still somewhat alive, (I HIIIIIIGHLY doubt it) it's just Madara's taken his body in a sort of metamorphic/vessel/transformation sort of fashion...

Put it simply, Obito IS Madara now.

What others said. I think they switched bodies now, because Madara clearly stated, "Lets switch". Waiting for *********** translations though. Or if they didn't switch then Obito is probably dead or maybe even alive due to Senju cells.

You have a point, and I'd really like to see Obito alive! but since Madara is so powerful could it be that reviving Madara would have been equivalent to a mass Rinne Tensei meaning Obito would in fact be dead?

But did Madara necessarily switch to Obito's body? It looked more like the Black Zetsu took hold and started to control Obito's body (at least to me) so that he could finish casting the Rinne Tensei and use it to bring back Madara (via normal means of Rinne Tensei without switching bodies) and since Obito was weakened Madara was able to take better control of Obito?

Here it does look like Black Zetsu fused with Obito's body

but then here

it looks like Black Zetsu is 'retreating' off Obito's body after having succeeded in taking control of him and reviving Madara's body?

Madara took over Obito's body since Obito is still the Jinchuurikhi of the Incomplete Ten tails.

Madara soul is is fused inside Obito's body,so Obito is pretty much unconcious but not dead yet.

Let's wait for next week and see. I will be happy if he revives everyone in the Ninja Alliance and die heroically, including Minato, Hiruzen and Jiraiya. :)

I'm glad if Obito is alive but then do you mean that Madara is in control of Obito's body and his consiousness is there but instead has been taken over by Madara? If this is true it would be interesting to see if Obito's will power would thwart Madara in some way

I would be happy if he did that too but at the same time I also want to see Obito go back to the village and live life for the feels! I think it would be original too because we've seen characters like Nagato repent by dying but that's like escaping in essence, I want to see Obito make up for his wrongs by living (like Kakashi states). Also I don't think there will be a chapter next week (or so I've heard) because the next chapter will come with the next issue of Jump but I don't know when exactly that is

Rinne Tensei is a technique that sacrifices lifeforce to resurrect someone.

Do you think you need the entire Gedou Mazou to revive Madara?

I don't. I'm almost sure Obito will barely survive.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure when Madara said "Let's switch." he meant that he would be alive and Obito would be dead, not actually switch bodies. Just sayin'.

Oh shit, sorry babe, I see what you mean... However the ONLY thing that keeps my point across is the fact Madara repeatitivly said he was going to "Switch" with Obito... So I mean he still could've done it, but you might be right, so we'll see.

Yea I remember him saying that too but It could be wrongly translated maybe ? or by switching with Obito he could have meant taking the place as Jinchuuriki of the Jyuubi and as the one to begin the Infinite Tsukuyomi instead of literally switching bodies with him (though I could be wrong since I don't remember the exact panels and context where Madara said he wanted to 'switch' with Obito so there may have been something that alluded to him literally switching bodies). I hope that we'll get to see for sure in the next chapter! Kishi really left everybody on a bit of a cliff hanger!
