Main Naruto antagonists are not pure evil

It is interesting, that the main antagonists of naruto have a good reason (to some degree), to do the evil acts that they do. Like Madara and Obito, they desire peace at the end of the day, and Orochimaru also has his reasons (wo dont know them yet, but we soon will).

Only minor antagonists are what id call pure evil/psychopatic, like Hidan...

Do you think any other characters are pure evil?

Which is why Naruto sucks. This is the only show I seen where villains get TnJ, every other anime I watched Villains die.

I'm pretty sure Kakuzu was pure evil. We will never know who lord jashin is, another example of Kishi's mediocre story writing.

Im not so sure about those two, Kakuzu used to be loyal to his village, but after failing a mission to assasinate hashirama (a missin that was destined to failure), he had a change of heart turning cold and greedy. Deidara just put his art before everything else, but he was preety evil nevertheless.

Agree. That's why this manga's unique. You don't have antagonists doing evil deeds just for fun or for fulfilling their psychopathic tendencies. (Btw this is my 500th post =D )

It is the same in real life. o-o. People are affected by their choices , and always have a main reason why they turned out that way.

Sasori - death of his parents

Oro - death of his parents

Hidan - unknown

Deidara - basically a rejected artist i guess

Kakuzu - kicked/shamed out of his village

Obito - hates the world, because of how the person he loved (a kid) was treated as a toy by the villages

Madara - basically Mad that he lost leadership

Nagato - Manipulated by Obito, due to seeing that the world "leaders" turn against people who try to achieve peace (like Yahiko), so they can remain in power (like Hanzo and Danzo).

Konan - simply following her friends

Kisame - no love given i guess.

the point is:no one is pure evil. no one. one does not simply arrive on this world evil.it`s a product of a certain trauma or pain that leads an individual into acts of violence and destruction caused by hatred and hopelessness

How is Hidan pure evil, he did what he did for a higher cause, he liked Pain just like Nagato liked Pain, what you mean all you need to do is show some humanity and your not evil?

Not completely true, ive researched psychology quite a lot, and it states that there are 2 types of evil people. Sociopaths-evil people who became like that because of society (socio), and psychopaths, ones who were born evil with no conscience (psycho).

I agree with both ^^ the friendship and peace thing is over exagerated in naruto U_U it's become more and more like fairy tail, a FAN-SERVICE FEAST :|

reason for people to become a psycho are simply because they dont receive enough love....orr...it could also be that one is neglecting his own needs and desires and therefore creating the second personality to compensate for that...it would be illogical to think that someone is born evil

I get where youre coming from, but think of it as a syndrome, a part of their brain is damaged, therefore they cannot feel affection and love. Im sure theres plenty of documentary films on this topic, but ive read that stuff in psychologic textbooks. I like your critical thinking though!
