I personally think shino bags this match for the simple fact that mist is countered via bugs. Its a legit theory; since the mist is composed of chakra the bugs eradicate that chakra and ultimately clear the mist. Shino being a sensory type this match is more in his favour not to mention the bugs abilities to sap chakra

But Zabuza has huge suitons and can tank getting his chakra eaten by countless bugs because of inhuman durability. Also Shino is a chuunin level ninja and less experienced while Zabuza is jounin so he loses badly because Iruka can beat part 1 genins like Lee, Neji, Gaara too.
And hidden mist is a gg since people who are trained to be ninja can't counterattack, defend or even realise their vision is blocked and it is not like they get missions day and night.

I guess Shino could win by your theory, but it depends on how fast those insects can absorb the Mist.

You didn't include starting distance, but since you made the intent to capture, it doesn't make much of a difference. Shino is perfectly suitable for a capturing objective, while Zabuza is not.

You cant go by rank in this match, considering Shino HAS a counter for the mist his trump is out of the question and his bugs aren't going to run head first into the suiton dragon he can control where the bugs go. Like i said since its capture i dont see how Zabuza wins

I give this to shino ESPECIALLY if Zabuza uses hidden mist.

Zabuza uses sound to target his victims however Shino could use the noise from ALL his bugs to conceal himself in the mist. On top of that Shino bugs would find Zabuza faster than Zabuza would find him. All Shino have to do is get 1 female bug on Zabuza and it is GG by Bug Swarm

Bugs can't guard against that huge vortex. Once the vortex is done, Shino will be laying in water giving Zabuza the chance to capture him in a Water Prison.

Zabuza. Shino cares about his bugs, he wouldn't use them as a shield to block his hits like Gaara would with sand. He can probably use his bugs to sense him, but it's no use if he can't dodge him.
