So I'm going too go out on a limb and suggest there is a *chance* he wouldn't be able too break free as Madara and or Hashi have...

Methinks Madara may have spied upon Tobirama preforming such, only an assumption on that claim though...

Lol, Hashirama was able to break through because the one who was controlling him got the body of a Mokuton. Hashirama is the original Mokuton Master and hence can break out and throw away the twig which is trying to control the tree.

On the other hand, to ET the sage, you need his DNA not mokuton or any knowledge on ET about breaking it.

Second Creation of all things combined with mastery over Rinnegan could do even impossible, he may even invent way to free himself from Edo Tensei if he wishes.

Third, Sage of six paths was sealing master as well... he may have another way to break edo contract or maybe he even has done something to his body so he can not be summoned via Edo Tensei.

Hagoromo breaks free with presence only, his chakra is unlike anything. Hashirama didn't break free with seals, since he hasn't used any, but with his powerful Mokuton DNA body, which we know increases chakra and gives you more life force. Hence Orochimaru was said by Tobirama to have had the whole body as his brothers' with a lot of Senju DNA. Needless to say what Hagoromo would do.
