How does Kamui actually works?

As titled. Can anyone make a logical guess on how this jutsu works? It would be better if you could explain it like how Itachi did with Izanami.

I must say this visual jutsu is the one and only around.

How does it work?! How does the eye create an alternate dimension?

With the kamui you can freely control what dimension you are in, a visual reference stays in both dimensions. Kakashis kamui however works only one way, transporting objects to the other dimension.

Dammed if I know. Displacing molecules, or in Obito's/Kakashi's case, sucking up things down to the molecular level....is kind of reminiscent of the black hole effect. How they are able to reconstruct their body on the other side in another dimension is well...magic XD

No,it works both ways.
He just never knew it could operate in another fashion until obito revealed the other eye.

He has since brought himself back with Kamui on two occasions.
