That was exaggeration which is something you shouldn't take too literal. Yata's best feat is blocking against kunai explosive which are small portion of cave buster. Madara's PS slashed 7 mountains which takes 7 TBB to take out.

Clearly Yata cannot defend against the slashes of PS.

Yata mirror has no feats that prove that it's invincible nor does it have any feats of blocking an attack that's on the same scale of madara's attacks. Those statements could have easily been exaggerations by kishimoto.

And it's not like totsuka sword will get madara. Totsuka sword isn't very hard to dodge.... and that's an overstatement.

Even with Yata itachi loses. Yata stays there but his susanoo gets crushed, all Madara needs to do is let his PS steps on Itachi. The brute force alone destroys his susanoo
