What do you think Sasuke was up to?

Even after Kakashi showed up, Sasuke still kept his sword drawn and hesitated to follow Naruto when they were reminded Madara was still alive. The only thing I can come up with is that Sasuke wants to take the Rinnegan/Sharingan off Obito and use it for himself. If Sasuke doesnt take it, do you think sombody else will?

Sasuke was in kill mode and your teacher that you threatened to kill earlier offered to do your job for you. Makes sense to hesitate.

It's not like Naruto had called out to him three times before he eventually went.

He was just witnessing what was going on, of course your first thought isn't going to be to sheathe your sword when something else, more interesting is going on.
