Just because the crap supported by major labels is mostly garbage, doesn't mean that music is ruined..

If you want good music you have to look for it, its not that hard.

I disagree. One genre of music can't ruin the entire thing. There are so many other genres and types to listen to. If it's not your thing, just avoid it. Nobody forces anyone to listen to it. Pop gets the most streamline media because it's the most popular. It's target audience is teenagers. It just works. Pop hasn't ruined music, in my opinion.

You mean to tell me that pop is a form of music? Wow i never knew something that bad could be considered music.(sarcasm)

Not all pop is bad. But when you hear LITERALLY THE EXACT SAME BEAT, in half the pop songs, you can see that it is bad.(people can still like it. Its just half of the songs do indeed have the exact same beat. As such for my preference, I find it bad.)

Bad is just relative to a persons perspective.

If you enjoy a song i think is bad, then good for you. You get enjoyment out of something i cannot.

As a whole, in my opinion, it seems modern pop(last 2-4 years or so) has been less creative than previous generations of pop(and seems to require less talent).


As i dont like most modern pop, i simply choose not to listen to it. And as such i dont even have to think about how little talent went into x song. Or how ive heard that same beat in like 20 other songs.

I'd say it started sucking when napster destroyed the music industry. It was very fuyukai desu.

Labels couldn't make as much money off of albums anymore and a lot of labels got bought out by bigger labels and is now this tightly nit monopoly. With fear of not being able to make any money barely any new artists are signed unless they fit into the current trend. When before people would try to push the envelope with the new artists they signed.

Then sucky acts like Soulja Boy became top selling artists and a lot of peoples standards of what was "good" dropped.

The music that is played on the radio is definitely not as good as past generations.​
