Hei stands fragile, weakened. His whitish grey hair blowing in the wind, his skin wrinkled from age. Hei looks upon the man before himself.. "I have lost pieces of my soul" Hei says with a rasp in his voice. "With them, experiences. I am but a shell of my former self and you shall aid me. *sickening cough* "With the knowledge you have I can be restored." Hei says as he rises proud.

Don't you think you're too old for this sport, old man? I feel like you'll drop dead before we even get to the very end. How do I recover your lost pieces without losing some of them on my own? Why is it that you see genjutsu as such an important piece of the puzzle? I squint my eyes slightly, giving of a curious and anticipating look.

Hei hears Barneys words and almost appears to lose focus as his gaze shifts back to the side, and empty stare looking of into the distance. Hei then looks back at Barney with his cold eyes. "Part of my Immortality was gained with mastery of all basic Ninja Skills.. Genjutsu is needed to create the illusion of youth, though it, I will not only re-gain some of the experiences lost. I will also be able to fuse it with a Kinjutsu, in time, to make the illusion, a reality." Hei begins scratching the back of his head. "As for you, I promise that this training will not cause you any harm, nor will it make you lose any pieces of your own. Hei stops scratching his head and takes a step forward, slightly rising his arms to his side in a threatening, yet vulnerable mannor. As I am now, You are stronger then I. When I become complete once again, and gain my Immortality. You will be reworded. Hei says with truth in his eyes.

Illusion of youth? I could use something like that. One can never be careful enough. So tell me, Hei, are there any remains of the knowledge that was taken away from you? Are you familiar with any of the basic principles? By the way you're talking I must deduce that you're familiar concept. Is that so? (Basically, the usual drill, what is genjutsu, etc. >_>)

"Indeed, I am still familiar with the concepts of Genjutsu" Hei takes a wrasping breath. "Genjutsu is the ability to create false realities, Illusions that under normal means are triggered by effecting the chakra network of the brain. Most Genjutsu are used to hinder a target, by effecting the way they perceive the world around them. This can ether be done by creating false surroundings, in which the opponent believes, or, masking real surroundings and making the opponent not believe them. This does, but is not limited to the hindrance of sight, but can also effect touch, smell and hearing. The overall use of most Genjutsu is to cause mental damage to your target." Hei replies..

Very well, Hei. And how about releasing them? With such extended knowledge I hope you still remember these. Also, have you ever heard of the term, genjutsu layering and what is the basic principle behind it?

Releasing Genjutsu can be done with multiple methods. One can overflow the Genjutsu with the use of surging chakra throughout there body, this act flushes the foreign chakra from your system. This can be done by ether the user or an ally. The basic use of it is Kai. Another method is pain. by inflicting enough physical pain, one can release most genjutsu..

As for Genjutsu layering, the concept is rather simple. One places a target in a Genjutsu, And then adds the effects of another genjutsu. This does not however effect the power of the Genjutsu, but simply makes it more complex. So, if Genjutsu "1" is equal to B-rank, and Genjutsu "2" is equal to C-rank, the power of the combined Genjutsu is only equal to it's strongest illusion, thin this case Genjutsu "1", B-rank.

Indeed. So there are 4 basic types of genjutsu, divided into biggest group just as a sort of ease. In my last genjutsu training I trained following the methods but here I'll follow the actual jutsu list but what I want from you is telling me for every genjutsu we do which method it belongs to. The methods/types are:

Method 1: Paralysis/Restriction
Method 2: Trickery
Method 3: Concealing Techniques
Method 4: Other (Mayhem, Release, Etc)

Also, tell me your thoughts about the certain technique, possible uses, advantages, disadvantages. Anything you find relevant. Let's make this a discussion more than a training since that's not what you actually need here.

( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

Ok, now this is the most basic technique. It allows you to change a feature of the battlefield, but only the battlefield and nothing else. This can be useful in environmental manipulation earth techniques. After a mist or smoke you can make something appear. You can do it just like that too, but the opponent will obviously notice it. A cool way to use it when you want to force the opponent to lose contact with the ground is creating earthen spikes that protrude from the ground. In reality he could jump from the surface into your trap, for example.

This Genjutsu falls under the method of "Trickery". You manipulate the prospective of the target to your advantage..

Advantage: Can be used rather quickly and dispite being a low ranking technique it can be one of the most useful Genjutsu. This allows you to use your imagination to disrupt the targets, allowing for more freedom then most techniques.

Disadvantage: Being a low ranking Genjutsu, it can be easily disrupted. When facing a Chakra sensor or Doujutsu user, it will come to ill effect.

Possible Usage: When an opponent is blinded, you can use this Genjutsu to create illusory walls in places where they are non, and even take it as far as masking walls that are really there. If an opponent uses a jutsu that manipulates the battlefield to his advantage, though the use of a technique, you can use this Genjutsu to make it appear that nothing has changed, however you will still need to counter an attack if it's used. The possibilities of this Genjutsu are massive.

Exactly, everything is in place and I don't really feel as if there's anything I can add. You were obviously wronged having the trainings stripped because it's obvious that the knowledge is there even if material proof is lacking. Such a shame.

( Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.

To execute this technique, you perform 5 handseals after which you dissolve in the air leaving only a shower of flower petals around your location. This is generally used to confuse the opponent and to block his vision of your real movements and intentions. Within the illusion, the opponent loses sight of you which can always be helpful.

Indeed, it's a shame but what can you do :beat:

============

Once again this is a Genjutsu that falls within the "trickery" method. This jutsu manipulates that the opponent see's and experiances in a multitude of ways while keeping the opponent unsure of your current whereabouts.

Advantage: The way this jutsu works is rather bland, some way conciser this a weakness however because it's low ranking and easily recognizable, you can use it to your advantage by fallowing up with a jutsu that truly mask your presence meaning that this jutsu is ideal in quick deception.

Disadvantage: Being a low ranking Genjutsu that requires 5 handseals, it can be easily disrupted meaning that timeing with this jutsu is key. When facing a Chakra sensor or Doujutsu user, it will come to ill effect as with most low-mid ranking Genjutsu's

Possible Usage: Timeing is everything when it comes to some techniques, this is one of them. It's an Ideal Genjutsu to use when an opponent is closing in on you inorder to use a Taijutsu and/or other close combat jutsu. By making the handseals as the opponent closes in, you can place them within the Genjutsu without them knowing, as they make there strike, you will disperse into the sakura petals quickly blinding them. In reality, you could have simply moved out of the way and attacked the opponent as they make the strike as they would be open for attack.

Yes, very good. I'd also like to add that wood users have a slight advantage with these type of genjutsu with all the flower petal schemes. I know wood doesn't necessarily cover flowers and plants but it does give you some sort of edge over other users. Simply show the opponent the ability to perform wood techniques and you will have him wondering whether it is genjutsu after all.

( Genjutsu: Kasumi ) - Illusion Technique: Servant
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user does one handseal and throws a paper bomb at the enemy. The enemy, trapped in a genjutsu will see a clone of the user advancing upon him. As the paper bomb reaches the enemy, it explodes

This is a very cool technique. Basically you throw a paper bomb in reality and you perform the handseal to trap the opponent within a genjutsu where he will see a clone of you running towards him, preparing to strike. In reality the paper bomb is flying towards the opponent and one its close it explodes, harming the opponent. Since it's just a paper bomb the damage isn't really bad but if you aim for the right spot you can achieve a greater effect. For example making it explode next to the opponents ear. The explosion will damage his inner ear and make him lose balance and stumble. He will be disoriented and confused, which coupled with the confusion from the genjutsu gives you enough time to prepare and execute other techniques.

This Genjutsu falls under the method of "Trickery". You manipulate the prospective of the target to your advantage..

Advantage: Can be used quickly with the need of only one handseal, once placed, this Genjutsu also works as a Physical attack against the target.

Disadvantage: The biggest disadvantage to this Genjutsu is it's range. Begin a short ranged Genjutsu and using a paper bomb can be very tricky. Seeing that this Genjutsu would be rather dangerous to use in hand to hand combat it makes the timeframe and range of which this Genjutsu can be successful used without harming ones self short.

Possible Usage: Continuing from it's Disadvantage, the window of opportunity is rather small in order to use this Genjutsu efficiently. One would want to use this Genjutsu as the opponent is making the charge into close combat. Once the opponent enters the Short range radius one would want to make the handseal and release the paper bomb, this would make the opponent believe you have made a clone which quickly closes in on there location. This will leave little chance for an opponent to know that a bomb has been thrown and make it so they will have no choice but to attempt to fight the illusion clone and take the hit in reality from the paper bomb.

=======

PS, and Illusion Clone Jutsu... that sounds really cool. Dibs! lol, I will message you perhaps we can develop it together xD

You're late, I already have that, lol. Btw. I'd like to think that it's actually trickery but I have it sorted under other just because of the little bomb thingy. It sets if off from other trickery illusions but in general it has the same idea.

( Kasumi Jūsha no Jutsu ) - Mist Servant Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This illusion creates numerous illusionary clones of the user that appear to emerge from the ground, trees, rocks, etc. If these clones are attacked, they appear to multiply. The user can co-ordinate his attacks with the clones to make it appear as if they are real.

Once again, illusionary clones. Just a greater amount that appears to be emerging from the whole battlefield. The obvious tell-off is by attacking the clones and seeing them multiply but there's some more. It's a cool technique because you can make it realistic with your own attacks and it's also interesting to have actual clones within the illusionary bunch. It can be a good combination.

This Genjutsu falls under the method of "Trickery". You manipulate the prospective of the target to your advantage..

Advantage: This Jutsu is a major advantage in combat. it can quickly overwhelm the opponent with an abundance of clones, splitting the opponents focus, making it harder for the opponent to truely know what may be happening. Given the style of this Genjutsu, it makes it especially hard for an opponent to recognize it's a Genjutsu, in spite of being a low ranking technique.

Disadvantage: Being an Illusion, the clones will never really be able to cause any real damage to the opponent, this means that with there growing numbers the opponent will quickly realize that the clones are not attacking, or that the ones that do attack cause no damage to them. this will ultimately led the opponent to realize they are within Genjutsu.

Possible Usage: As you stated, in order to maintain the illusion, the best usage of this technique would be to mix in real clones with them. As the opponent attacks false clones the real ones can attack makeing the opponent believe they are all real for a longer time period.

Very good. You can also tell it's a genjutsu by the way the clones are appearing. Regular clones come with a poof of smoke and they don't simply emerge from other objects.

( Magen: Narakumi ) - Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user performs two handseals causing it to appear as if a swirl of leaves surrounds the opponent. The swirl eventually falls away, and after a few seconds, the opponent sees the image of whatever they fear the most, shocking them and potentially causing them to faint.

Last of D ranks. After two handseals, leafs start swirling around you very quickly and as they fade away the thing you fear the most appears in front of you. Due to the fear you pass out. The fear can be anything from past experiences to monsters, aliens or idk, honestly. Once again, petals. It's similar to the previously used technique thus why the same reasons for deducing apply. Also, since it has a slightly different effect, different reasons apply too. I'm unsure though what happens to victims that are afraid of heights or that are claustrophobic. I mean, they pass out but I'm not sure what they see. A box surrounding them and shrinking? That wouldn't be too hard to figure out, wouldn't it?

Advantage: Can prove as a grate detraction as the mass of leafs will hinder the targets sight allowing for it's user to move around without the target knowing the perceive movements being made. The sudden leafs can also cause an opponent that is advancing upon a location to stop his own movements and take to the defensive. Possibly the best aspect of this Genjutsu is the seemingly secondary "metal attack" which, after the leaves fade, forces the opponent to be struck with great fear which can serve a multitude of purposes in combat.

Disadvantage: Being able to skillfully weave 2 handseals in short range can be rather difficult against a skilled opponent, this makes the Genjutsu rather useless against close combat experts, or rather anyone who has moderate skill in short range.

Possible Usage: Given the vagueness of the Technique at hand, it's uses can be a large variety of things. All depending on the situation in battle.

Other: I think this jutsu is in desperate need of re-vamp. Perhaps adding a less vague description and multiple ranking in which higher rank can be achieved by a more skilled/strong user. (Like Killing Intent.) the fact that the jutsu says "potentially causing them to faint." can't really be used in the RP without some type of limitation of how it effects different ranks. One can say it will cause the target to faint and the other will disagree ultimately leading to a meaningless argument/judgment.

Hm, that's actually a good point. I agree with you. But if we follow that logic more than half of the jutsulist needs a revamp lol. Either way, we'll leave it for those in charge.

( Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy, unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may use this technique through physical contact on others to dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic as to why he figured out it was an illusion.

It's time for kai. As you already said, Kai is used for releasing from genjutsu. Kai halts your chakra system for a moment and then it overpowers the disturbance by spiking it, thus returning it back to normal. Depending on your rank, it varies in strength thus varying in the ranks of genjutsu you can release yourself from. It requires one handseal so it can't release you from movement restricting genjutsu as well as MS techniques.

Well this ones kinda a given..

Advantage: As you said, it releases non restricting Genjutsu..

Disadvantage: Also as you said, if a Genjutsu is restricting this jutsu isn't ideal.

Possible Usage: When one is placed inside a Genjutsu would be the best time to use it lol.

Don't really know what else to say about it xD
