Why do people think a 2 week break will give him ideas? Or magically fix or make the manga "better"? He has basically already chosen the overall outcome of Shippuden, it's called Naruto. He has already displeased many, and I would laugh if they magically start liking him (and Naruto) again just because they dude took a 2 week break to "come up with idea's". Like one superb chapter is going to rid everyone of their bitterness of past chapters?

I just don't see how this break can fix a manga that has been going on for a decade plus.

It seems like I am one of the few that just looks forward to the next issue regardless.

I disagree that the story will get better, but a break does extend it, which is cool and everyone needs a break, both the creator, publishers, and readers.

Finally, someone shows some common sense. If he's taking a break, it means he's taking a break... thus NOT working on the manga. There is absolutely no indication that would make one expect the manga would improve after a break (I don't even see why it has to, I like what I read).

Also, all of these thoughts and speculations don't mean a thing. This is also just an assumption but at as a Media major I suspect he already has chapters up to 665 laying ready for Shonen to be published, he isn't writing and drawing his ass off every week for the next chapter to come, there's too much risk involved that way.

The breaks in the manga are the idea of the publisher, Kishimoto's. Again, this is a speculation, but that is how it goes in a lot of media related products.

The Publisher most likely already has the Chapter 656 in His or Her hands, their just keeping to their time table they have for release date as specified in their contract. In business is all about time table and cost efficiency.

The hiatus is not because of Kishi, is it, only the magasine.
And there will still be 1 chapter this year, why is the big deal forum for this?

And what lesses does not disappear, it will end sooner or later, it's good to have it longer but it means not that more things will happen. :/
The same things will happen, same long, just you make yourself wait for it. Kinda the same....... maximum you will not read Naruto while you would need to ornament the Christmas tree instead :'D that's the only good point.

Kubo took some long breaks with Bleach, and it's definitely paying off. Kishi should and probably will do the same with Naruto.

Think about it. How much time they have spent on a manga, it's a life long work, and it's something that people will read many times in the future as well. It must be hard to end something like that, so of course they need to think about, how it can be done properly.

Btw. you should expect early release on next chaper, and then a longer break afterwards (as usual).

I could agree with most of the ideas shown here, but the lack of substanciality in the story, during the last 2 months got me thinking as good as Naruto is it might even not be planned that far long. Yep, we know Kishi through his own words expressed in numerous interviews says he knows the ending of it all, but has never communicated whatever happens in between (and could not even guessed it before writing it). Plus all the assitants added to his editorial team might explain he could be be working the story as he feels it, and actually does need constant holiday, to get to understand his handling of time.

It might be too, following the very Japanese printing agenda.

Is there anime this week? :Omg:
