Ok we know Madara was first to awaken M.S and then itachi followed soon.
then there were shisui,itachi,obito and sasuke.

so in this latest episode of naruto shippuden there were a whole bunch of fodder uchihaa's who all had M.S . even every one of them could use izanami and izanagi. WTF that girl also had M.S and she might be the strongest female in narutoverse history with that izanami. wtf wtf I am really confused. I am starting to feel that itachi doesn't have any genuine jutsu. these jutsu are automatically embedded with the sharingan:eww:

Well, Itachi didn't follow soon after Madara, he would have been the most recent other than Sasuke. Madara, Izuna, Shisui or Obito, then Itachi and finally Sasuke. And also, we only saw like four or five MS users in the episode, entirely possible considering they were in a time of war where the death of close family or friends would be extremely common events.

You don't need an MS to use either jutsu.

You don't need MS to use izanami and izanagi. Madara was the first to unlock the Eternal MS that allowed him to read the stone tablet. MS in general was looked down on because it required users to kill their own loved ones. It prob became forbidden for a good while and forgotten until Madara was able to get it.

MS was around because the very early Uchiha had them when they wrote the stone tablet. It was prob watered down after a few generations and became harder to unlock.
