Why are Edo-Tensei's put into tier rankings?

I don't understand why they're even ranked at all, like all this BM, KCM Minato crap is annoying since he wouldn't have jack shit if he's alive.
Why do you think they're ranked? Do you agree with it?

It's pointless to rank them as they can't die or run out of chakra.

They're ranked because fans of the characters need something to put their character at the top of the good chain.

Meh , i don't see much of a difference , there's a few edos on the top tiers list anyways & even if you don't count them as edos they'll probably still be in the top list alive: example , Madara ,Hashi , Minato .

Idk, maybe because edo tensei still contributes to their character development in some way. hmm For example, with Madara we found out heck of alot about his character once he was edo tensei'd. The 4 Edo Hokage's also contributed except for maybe Hiruzen who for some reason made the least contribution in terms of jutsu and abilities. :| By the way, edo tensei characters are not unfair because in some way they can still be defeated, like they can be sealed or just give up on their own free will unless Kishi deploys the 'goodbye'-no-jutsu on OP characters.

Minato would still have KCM if he was alive

if he was still alive, he would have no need to but a portion of the Kyubi's chakra inside himself while attempting to kill himself with the RDS. Him having KCM is a result of his sacrifice. If you want him ranked as alive, then he obviously cant have KCM.
