Letme just stop your right here; Soil and rock come from volcanic explosions that have been cooled over time, do you even research bro?

This thread will fail simply because of the lack of intelligently informed individuals who are either entitled religious fuqs or fake hipster Athiest fuqs, either way it's all a shitfuq.

the problem is where did volcanos come from? where did the lava and mountain around it came from?

the funny thing is the answer is star dust. our planet was probably created when dust from dead stars got attracted to each other by gravity and eventually formed a huge ball of it. and after floating around got caught in the gravity of the sun. humans are made of star dust surprisngly just like the bible says, god created adam out of dust.

Remember my friends. This thread and OP's words are his opinion. We are all sharing our opinions with each other. No need to be mean. Unnecessary negativity is unneccessary after all... Sharing knowledge, spreading love and spreading/encouraging positivity is the best option for us all. Especially in this age of war and corruption. It's the best way to create a positive environment/future for us all. Kindness is powerful.

Why is there so much disrespect towards God from you guys? You do realize that God is an idea that some people mold their lives around right? Why be so disrespectful towards it?

It makes no sense and you guys should be ashamed.

Personally, I believe in God, but I don't have much faith. I am trying to build that faith however, and feel God's presence like my family and friends have felt. And through their testimonies I know God is real.

But seriously guys let's discuss religion without bad mouthing each others beliefs.

No one can change what you believe in. It's what you claim to know that's important. Do you know God is real or do you just believe in him?

Well I do belive in him and recognise he does exist, why? Cause they way my religion emphasises on his existance. Either way, people are obviously gonna flame me for this, but I am not getting into these kinda flame debates. I'm not much into discussion when it comes to religious debates.

Knowing and believing is the fundamental difference when having a discussion like this. If someone "knows" the unknowable then they shouldn't be allowed to be in a position of power. This leads to religious killings etc... Now a person who believes in the possibility of a God but doesn't "know" he/she's there without solid facts still has a chance of credibility.

Religious killing is just plain wrong, I go against by that. Well like I said previously, a religious person does know god exist they way the holy books explain the concept of his existance, some don't belive him cause science is a valuable answer and explains and can explain everything in the future. Well yeah. And like u said, agnostics, belive god does exist, without any proof whatsoever. In the end. I don't see the difference wether u believe or don't believe in god. Matter of own personal beliefs =/

i respect you and your beliefs, and you are allowed to have your own opinion, but respect goes both ways. you should also respect the fact that i don't believe in god (at least not completly), and mold my life around that. the hardest thing is co-existence but it's the only way for peaceful existence.

also, i don't like when people literaly mold their entire lives around the existence or nonexistence of god. do you really believe and have faith that god exist if you constantly need to defend his existence? it's like how physics would fall if gravity would turn out to be a hoax, i don't like that entire religions would fall just based on the existence of god.

You are an example of what I dislike about religion. I don't mean this with disrespect I'm just being honest. You claim to "know" something through others experiences, be it your family or not. I'm going to use this example again but during the Salem Witch trials they "knew" that those women where witches. Fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters all feed off of each others ignorance and committed deplorable acts of violence against innocent women. What makes that "know" so much different from the modern day's? During the Greek era they fully knew and believed in Zeus.... they all witnessed acts of their Gods. It's impossible to know, unless you know.

It's not the believe part that's the issue. I believe in the possibility of God but I do not claim to know of his existence. This is because I want to be factually correct. You don't know, until you know. Strongly believing isn't knowing. Knowing a God is real, borderlines schizophrenia and shares many symptoms.

In no way am I against you not believing in God. I have enough decency to not condescend against you being an Atheist.

It just sucks that man kind can't learn from the past. A lot of conflict in history has been because people can't accept that others have different beliefs.

Personally, I don't care if you are an Atheist, Islamic, Catholic etc. Has no effect on me!

Aren't you supposed to be the physics guy? Are you asking a rethorical question? Do the words tectonic plates mean nothing to you?

You have a long ways to go before even beginning to speak about star dust, buddy, you simply have to find out and research for yourself, albeit you are correct everything and anything is in fact star matter.

About a month ago, I really didn't believe in God and I was having a heated debate with my friend to the point where I was gonna hit him cause I couldn't accept that fact that he "knew" there was a God and I didn't.

But he told me God is like one of those toy monkeys. You press the button and it starts clapping. It works if you try it and if you haven't tried it than we wouldn't know right?

Basically, without trying God we can't know if God is real. But I'm just someone that's trying to find God myself so I can't really talk about it.

But it shouldn't bother you that much that someone "knows" God exists. It doesn't effect you unless they force it down your throat.

the questions were how the OP would answer (keep asking where your answer came from). and then i ended it with star dust which is basicly matter from the big bang.

also i don't claim to know everything or even anything, i'm no physcist and all i know is hobby work from books and lectures i understand 10% of. but still i think that was the answer.

It used to be religious people that would jump on atheists, but that has recently been flipped around.

Yeah like I said it's the way my religion says on his existance, like for instance the holy book of the Muslims has many verses which god defines his existance, including mentioning the expansion of the universe years before it was discovered. Well as a Muslim and reading the Quran, I actually do belive god exists. As this is my belief.

Strongly believing isn't knowing.

What sort of symptoms exactly?

Actually religion basically ruined my life because I was gay in a very Christian family. So just because it hasn't directly effected you, doesn't mean you should just ignore it. Gnostic people are similar to schizophrenics, they believe that their actions are always being watched and judged. Which has lead to some pretty messed up situations in the past. More people have been killed "in the name of God" than just about any other situation in history. Religion is poison of the mind, and once you "know" you are a part of the problem.

If you have a murder case and you know one person is innocent and the other is guilty but your not sure who the killer is, you use forensics etc... You break the case down and find the FACTS. All religious facts have been broken down and researched but they all fall short of being legit. I will never say that there is not a God, Atheist are also Gnostic. I simply claim that until "God" reveals himself we are all just writing fictional stories.

This isn't the link I wanted to find but I'm out of time for now. I'll come back and respond later. This is just an idea of what I'm talking about.

Bold: Exactly. My friends and family have found the facts, even my ex girlfriend. They all have felt God's presence and that's a fact to them. Personally I have not felt the holy presence yet so I guess I don't have the facts myself yet. But those are honest testimonies.

But as a reasonable and decent human being, I will not deny something I have not tried to feel, or get upset that someone believes something differently.

And yes that is wrong that you had to go through that being gay in a Christian family, and if they can't accept you than that's their loss and I'm sure wherever God is he's disappointed with them. God didn't personally ruin your life, so you shouldn't have a personal vendetta against religion.
