Some characters are better off not being main one.

Just because he is your fave, it does not mean he would be like How you liked him if he was a main character. For ex. Lee is my fave but i can't bear the tought of him being another Naruto, he is great the way he is to me. This is a shounen manga, and he would be a Naruto with different design. He already has enough of paneltime and importance, he is a good character the way he is.
