I doubt there is a single person who has watched FMA:B fully and call it a bad anime/manga. It is a masterpiece. Although it is tied imo with Code Geass as the best 50ish episode anime and 2nd/3rd on my favorite top 10 list.

Now with that said, One Piece is better, but what makes it better is not what you have listed. Of course the difference is very minimal. it is like saying would you rather have 10 or 11 dollars. What makes FMA:B better in plot is because it is finished. It had a very satisfying ending. You can't compare the ending with OP however because of the very obvious it doesn't have an ending. In that sense FMA:B is better.

What makes OP's plot better is how the world is ever expanding and everything about it is so unpredictable. There is so much going on and it is impossible to predict where the story is going right now.

As for character development and designed, it also depends. As for back stories of the main characters, they all have tragic pasts. The difference lies in the plot though. In FMA:B they are trying to correct their past and stumble upon something completely different where the ultimate goal gets their bodies back. In OP, they use their pasts and it makes them stronger because of it.

The designs in both are unique. I wouldn't say one is better then the other. They both fit their universe they are in.

Good post from you yet again U_U

I swear you bring out the side of me that doesn't mind OP every time,

Although FMAB isn't just good because of the ending...Its plot developments left you craving more each and every time a twist happened, you know damn well you fell in love with almost every character, and very few are annoying...They are even one of the few anime to portray strong feminine roles, Armstron,Lust,Hawkeye ..Although winry is pretty lame,

really yes OP's verse is ever expanding ..however they add way to many characters adding to their already goofy and totally un-realistic design.. It can be un-predictable at times...Apart from the fighting i mean we always know how a fights going to end when certain characters are in the fight >.> The plot changes and i'll give it that...But its never anything that actually wows you..their usually just minor twists,

Op Has decent development, for the Main heroes...but FMAB has development for all characters ...Even the villains..

Don't want to state how because they are all major spoilers...But just look at how the homunculi ended up...All of them except ****ing gluttony and sloth developed in some way that made you not hate them as much as when they were douches in the beginning...

of course all that is in personality and character

If were talking about fighting prowess yes OP has a hell of a lot more than that...but i mean come on, that is really the root of all problems in long running animes ...the characters just get way to OP to really enjoy anything.

FMAB kept it intense, epic, emotional and ****ing awesome till the end ^_^

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but you really need to finish OP(and in a way that you aren't going to watch just to prove other animes are better. It has to be in an unbiased way.). Most of what you say about OP is true until after the skypiea arc. Then things go way to epic to comprehend. Although you did get a taste of Luffy's plot shield dying when he fought Crocodile round 1 and 2. Did you see Luffy almost dying? No one did. Then you expected him to win when he came back, but he still didn't. He only won the last round through sheer willpower then punched crocodile through bedrock.

Then in Skypiea Oda switches it up and instead of badass villain, you get a guy with a god complex and crazy as shit. Then you see how well Oda puts together a an amazing sub story.

Fast forward to Sabarody and what happened there no one predicted. I won't spoil it for you but it shows how you couldn't predict who would win and it was a major plot twist.

And OP does develop villains and side characters really well. Only a few were bad like Foxy.....****ing hate him. Given it wasn't so good in the beginning but the main bad guys like BB and Akainu and Donflamingo are done amazingly well. So was Crocodile in the earlier arcs.

Again, if you have watched all of One Piece then you would know why people say what they do. Although the people who say One Piece is vastly superior to FMA:B, I would have to ask how their opinion got so warped. Both are amazing and deserve to be called great.

One Piece > FMAB IMO, but it's only a little better.

*sigh* I suppose i should start reading again, but i was just so un-interested with what i was reading before...

And crocodile is a bad-ass lmao, of course i saw luffy almost dying XD

About Character Development.

The reason some people assume OP > FMAB is because OP had more time for character dev.

OP Episodes: 619
FMAB: 64

OP has 555 more episodes. FMAB is a short anime, so they couldn't go in to depth of the characters, and developing happened at short-rapid paces. So FMAB deserves a lot of respect because they delivered a great anime in 64 episodes.

Note: I love both animes.

I still think some of the characters FMAB are so much better developed then those of OP, but i suppose this is true

aren't you the guy who loves to bash OP? ... but that doesn't apply to this thread altough the first post did have it, even if it was subtle

FMA is a great manga but I usually prefer long running series that I can follow through a long period of time, I get much more attached to those kinds of series. That's probably why I will always prefer Naruto to FMA, but OP is a whole another story. I've followed it for 10 years now and is the only manga that has a very big effect on my life, it's just special somehow. Most fans just can't explain it.

Just out of curiosity, how far did you read OP? I know your most common reason in the past for not liking OP was the art but believe me when I say there were many before you, but after they gave it a fair, unbiased chance they really liked it.

FMAB definately is a better anime when looking at most aspects, however the issue is that since FMAB has so few episodes in comparison to OP it's not as popular, though either way both animes are great U_U

Based on my personal opinion >->

oh its you...That stupid git

i know right ? LOL by the way the OP fav anime is Black Butler LOL, its about a Demon who like Boys,

OT: seriously it don't take a genius to realize that we shouldn't compared these 2 anime, just like most people stated up there OP : long running series based on ongoing manga FMAB : one year long anime adaptation based on completed manga..........

understand ?

oh and also what make you compared this 2 series ? its as clear as day that you hate One Piece, then why you choose it to compare with FMAB (your new favorite anime that you watched just recently)

It's even between the two. But development in FMAB wasn't through the typical "training" methods as most mainstream anime's. FMAB was more of a just try your best kinda thing and adapt quickly.

The ignorance in this post is astonishing? My favorite anime is NOT Black Butler as a matter of fact

Its Naruto U_U

And i've finished FMAB in June .....Ask anyone, i've been recommending it for a good 5 months now

Its also quite obvious that i do not like OP...However i simply wanted peoples opinions on the matters i posted in the OP, Which clearly don't necessarily matter how long the anime is :|

So if your done spouting shit that just makes you look stupid U_U You may want to actually learn how to read.

FMAB > OP
Simple as. I can't think of any glaring faults with FMAB, even if I racked my brain. People might try to say that OP is longer, and it hasn't reached the end yet, so you can't judge. I think that's silly, fact is that OP will likely never achieve the level that FMAB did in such a short time, end of.

FMA Brotherhood is the best written anime of all time.

It's not my #1 but it's by far the most genius. One Piece pales in comparison, and One Piece rocks.

What this guy said, as much as I normally dislike your opinions I agree with you on this one. I like One Piece too but out of all 600 something episodes they haven't matched the feelings that FMA:B gave me.

And for the record, Hunter x Hunter 2011 is better than them both, just saying.

No for both.

The plot in One Piece is so complex and intricate ; Oda puts in so much effort and it pays off. One Piece has the most incredible plot of any other Man/Wha/Ga ever. However FMAB is almost as good in terms of plot.

Just my opinion.

It makes me happy that someone generally dislikes my opinions, it means they read my posts and actually think about them. T^T
