Hanzo wanted to fight tho didn't he? The Toads would see that Jiraiya is an edo and would try to help him rest in piece by summoning Naruto to where Jiraiya is or if Naruto already there then just join Naruto. Jiraiya is still pretty power without his SM, we technically never seen him go full all out since he was fighting Pain's bodies so fighting 6 kage level ninjas wouldn't allow you to be as openly using other jutsus that you can use but ones that best suit the situation.

I wanted to see more earth jutsu from Jiraiya cause the only one we saw was pretty powerful (the swamp which he used when he only had 30% of his power and was physically weakened as well.
