Well, yes, Danzo is a controversial character, but that's what makes him interesting for me. I can't say I'm a fan of his, but since my faves are his subordinates I often use him in my stories, but I keep him in-character. It allows for a lot of interesting conflict =D

If I had to sum up Danzo I'd say that he struggled to become what he viewed as a perfect ninja; his Root people got closer to that than he did

Argh, I meant to say "he struggled to become [...] but never could", due to his own flaws, like he could never suppress his fear completely, and such. It's hard to type with loud music in you ear :| Plus I'm not fully awake yet.

What you say is true but some people like me actually enjoy his character BECAUSE of his flaws/wrong-doings, not in wankery way but from the point of writing.
