Like the title says this a thread for all Hiphop fans and Eminem stans to come discuss their thoughts on Eminem's new LP.
In my honest opinion I believe it's Slim's best work The Eminem Show, while there are a few 'meh' tracks such Survival, and The Monster, there are unbelievable tracks such as Rap God, Evil Twin, Bad Guy (my personal favorite), Headlights, etc.
Two songs that I'd like to talk about are 'Bad Guy' and the Kendrick featured track 'Love Game'.
I'm going to put the song in the spoiler thingy as the album was leaked and there are plenty of people that want for the official November.5th release date (I tried and obviously failed)
Bad Guy
This was the best opener to an Eminem album since 'Kill You' on the first LP imo. As the song goes on true fans will realize that it's actually a sequel to 'Stan' this time from Stan's little brother Matthew and he has grown up with a hatred for Slim and plots his revenge. In the song he kills Em and makes many references to the the first song that I think alot of people will enjoy. What stands out to me is the 4th verse in which Eminem just goes off!!! He addresses his rise and fall in discography and homophobia and misogyny. I was amazed and it's definitely an instant classic imo
Love Game
This was a very anticipated song for myself and many other people cause Eminem and the best new rapper out Kendrick Lamar actually made song together. This song won't be what people expect which is probably a Rap God/Control part 2, but it delivers in it's own unique way. It's a very lyrical but goofy song that some most likely won't enjoy. But Kendrick proved that he can keep up with Em, his verse trumps Eminem's first verse and his arguably better than Em's last verse but I'm still torn on which I like more because Em's flow and wordplay on his 2nd verse was nothing short of phenomenal. K.dot was also very good on the hook imo. Definitely one of the more unique hiphop collabs in recent years, and a VERY funny song. Em's first verse literally made me LOL
So yeah while there are a few mediocre tracks the great songs more than make up for them and if you plan on buying the deluxe edition, word-of-mouth says that the bonus songs are all great. So with that I think you have a great rap album, best album of the year (way better than magna-carter that shit sucked, and I never been I fan of Drake so I will never put myself through the agony of listening to his albums) The Stan (or Matthew ;D) in me won't allow me to give this album anything less than a 5/5.
What do you guys/girls think?
