Analysis: Which do you think was better? Part 1 or Part 2?

In my opinion, I think Part 1 was better. More K11 development, Orochimaru was awesome, the feeling of mystery and the Sasuke retrieval arc were all high points. The Pain invasion was great don't get me wrong, but that's been the only highlight to me.

Which leads to my question, which series do you prefer? Part 1 or Shippuden?

Hm...To be honest with you, it has to be part 1 for me.

My post may have a little bit of bias, but reasonably so.

I STARTED watching the anime (cuz I didn't start reading the manga until later. I started with the anime). in the Land of Waves arc, right before the Zabuza fight. And I really got excited during the chuunin exam fight, where everything was fresh and new, and we were learning about chakra and Neji was being a badass against Hinata and all of these characters seemed all so compelling, especially Gaara and Lee.

The Sasuke retrieval arc was so exciting for me, especially Chouji's battle, because there was a literal sense of danger, a sort of 'what's going to happen next?' mentality.

I don't know, but Part 2 kind of lost all that for me. Maybe it was because I just overdid it with all the episodes in such a short amount of time, but everything seemed kind of bland. Ooh, hey, ninjas. Ooh, hey, Sasuke. Ooh, hey, Naruto.

Maybe that's one of the disadvantages of making your series as long as Kishi made Naruto; keeping consistency in quality is harder.

I think I'm going with Part 2. Well, pretty much until the Juubi's Revival Arc anyway.

Part 1 for the most part but the beginning of part two (without the kazekage rescue arc) is on par. I mean, the battles of Pein vs Jiraiya, Sasuke vs Itachi and Naruto vs Pein where just awesome! But part one also had the Sasuke retreval arc and the chuunin exam. The war arc is a bit of a let down and I hope it will soon be over. So in the end they are equal to me.

Part 2. Even though Part 1 had some very interesting points about the makings of the ninja world, it was somewhat slow, and I always enjoyed the intense fights and Akatsuki members more.

You forgot about Team Yamato arc mission to find Sasuke but fought against Kabuto and Oro during Naruto transformed to 4 tails.

Part 2 Sasuke's reveal and his Hebi days was the golden age.The Pein arc will never be forgotten wither.

Difficult choice, probably Part 1.

Part 2 is just WAY too idealistic, if it wasn't for a certain Ninja keeping me interested Part 2 would have been a huge disappointment.

Kishi couldn't keep the focus on unimportant characters like the K11 or anyone rise. We wouldn't be anywhere near where we are in the story.

part 1,the plot was way more consistant,all the characters were well developped,and all of them got screen time,it wasn't centered around one or two persons.
another thing is the obvious favouritism the writer has for uchihas in part2,who were portrayed as the only persons to have talent,and basically threw every character out of the window,their skills,their use of what they have and portayed as inferiors,so just so he can satisfy his love for uchihas.and that killed the series for me.
if anyone wants to say i'm wrong then look at every fight in part2 that involves an uchiha,who wins?you know who.
the oppenents are oftenly humiliated and always portayed as jealous type(kabuto,diedara)or plain inferior having some awful obsession over them(naruto,orochimaru,kauto and the list goes on),yes you can't deny that there is an uchiha favouritism in part2.and it made me loathe them and think many times of quitting the manga.

Part 1 is better for me, the fight between kiddos seems more tensious than this sorry excuese of a war.
Only Akatsuki made me attached to series in part 2.
