Reading the latest chapter I realized something. If Itachi was still in the plot as an edo he could have just used Izanami on Obito. Easy way to win the war right there.

The fact that he doesn't care about anyone doesn't mean that he does not know who he is . And he's never been like " I'm the strongest , I'm gonna kill you all " like Kabuto did . Obito deep in his heart know that Obito is his name , and Naruto is reminding him in the lastet chapter .

Itachi wouldn't have stood a chance against the 6 Paths Obito.... he didn't have the stamina. Heck he plausibly would have died of his illness before the war anyhow.

The man is pretending to be what he is not. He keeps harping on about how he is the 2nd coming of the sage of six path. He thinks he is a god at the moment. Not only that, he keeps on ignoring his true feelings. Izanami could in theory work. It's used to keep Uchihas in check.
