Rin being a better character than Sakura?

Okay, after the latest chapter we have had countless threads about Rin. Especially her characters superiority to Sakura.
People fail to see, when comparing these two, that Rin had a totally different childhood, growing up in war times, while Sakura had a normal one with the greatest complication being her love life.
This is not really my point but had to bring that out.

Also it only SEEMS that Rin is nicer and stuff SINCE we have only seen her in a couple of chapters. We have only seen a one side of her, while Sakura being in the manga from the beginning and having MUCH more panel time has shown much more and every side of her personality.
No one is only "kind". Rin is still pretty much a mystery to us all.

As a character Sakura is much more relatable and humane than Rin.

Even with only a couple of chapters of her, I like her far better than Sakura. From what we've seen, she's never shown any indication of rash behavior or being a hothead. She was even being strict on Obito when he was trying to act cool, then she later went on back to inspire and give him a pep talk.

That already is better than Sakura for me, but I don't like Sakura for other reasons so I'm biased against her

Rin showed us what a female supporter character is all about in one chapter ,something we haven't seen from someone else in 600 + chapters , what more do you need ?

This thread is not about who you like better, but Rin isn't humane at all. Her character hasn't been built up much at all. We haven't seen much of her personality, only, that she is nice and kind. Everyone relating to Rin has some kind of a victim syndrome.

I do prefer Rin's personality over Sakura's for sure. Sakura's Tsundere (eg. passive/aggressive) personality has been a turn off since the beginning. It was only after she became Tsunade's student and started to take her ninja studies seriously that I began to like her at all.

Rin is dead. Would she have stayed the same or changed for the worse? We will never know.

Right now Sakura is still stuck in the same place she was at the beginning of shippuden. Will she get any more character development, personality wise, or will she stay the same? Will have to wait and see.

This post absolutely makes no sense. : D Sakura is a better written character than Rin. Rin lacks in everything. We should see more of her, she is so one dimensional right now.

I do like Rin's personality more than Sakura's. But like you said, Rin had a different childhood and grew up in hard times (at least harder than Sakura's). Plus EVERY single panel we see of Rin is in flashbacks. By two people who loved her (romantically and otherwise). So we only get to see her most favorable sides according to them.

If people want to hate Sakura and say Rin's better let them. This is their opinion. You cannot change their mind no matter how foolish you tell them they are, or how many different ways you explain they're wrong. It's not going to get in their head. They've created their opinion period.

EDIT: also I think Rin's a much better character than Sakura even though she hasn't had barely any panel time.

No she isn't. One thing she lacks is FLAWS. She's perfect while Sakura is not being too aggressive and hot headed.
Now she is just a nice girl. How interesting. :|

Maybe growing up during war times taught her that she can never be selfish and must think of others and how she can make things better.
