This is a shonen manga about peace, A character like obito who is the main antagonist and parallels the main character will not go down before a change of heart. It's inevitable.

If obito dies a villain, it would contradict the entire manga. Naruto wouldn't of been able to save obito.

On the other hand, Madara is unknown at this point since hes a zombie and isn't relevant to the main character.
