"alright, let me think about it..."
Wind or Fūton is one of the rarest out of the 5 basic elements, It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. Wind-Chakra can also be infused in blades and other weapons to increase their cutting and piercing power. Wind is strong against lightning because it acts like an insulator, wind is weak against fire because as generally known wind fuels fire. You can use wind to strenghten your fire based attacks. It also helps water based attacks to increase their overal destructive power. You can form the following 2 KG's using wind;
- Wind & water => Ice Release
- Wind & fire => Scorch Release
"Is that any good Sempai?"
Both of you redo it please. You both copied and pasted from wiki >_<Futon is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures, wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well. Wind-natured chakra can also be channelled into blades to increase their cutting power and overall range. The wind affinity is seemingly more common amongst shinobi of Sunagakure.

The bolded parts are the only things I didn't knew about wind release and 'researched' on ^^
So basically my knowledge about wind until now was:

I can't figure anything else out hmm *.*
*Falls to knees* I'm Sorry Sensei :T_T:
Ok, Futon aka Wind release is using the element of wind as a destructive force to damage an opponent or an object. The user channels his charka throughout their body so that they are able to wield and bend the air around them in attacks. This elements forms of attacks evolves around the wind's ability to cut and slice at others, from it's high speed and precision. It's also very usefull when used in conjuration with Kenjutsu (swords) by channeling wind into the blade to increase cutting power. Futon is mostly an offensive element.
As for it's relations with other elements.
Wind is weak against fire, because the wind's current only feeds the flames.
Wind is strong against Lightning because air it's self is a natural insulator
It can be combined with water release to fortify the water's corrosive power.
For Earth... Hmm ... I don't know sensei![]()
All of you, good. You all mentioned the KG that wind creates. However, for some reason not a lot of people know that it's also necessary for Swift Release. I liked your explanations, wind release IS good for cutting and blowing. It can either be small and precise and sharp, or large and destructive. But you guys summed it up pretty nicely.Fūton
Wind in General: Futon in the NV is one of the 5 basic chakra natures. This specific type of element, takes the form of wind based attacks. These jutsus can vary between huge gusts, controlled wind storms, slicing/cutting, shape manipulation [e.g. bullets]. Wind is more than often used as an offensive element, perfect for close to long range attacks.
Relationships With Other Elements: Wind based attacks are weak against katon jutsus because [also in real life] flames are created and stabilized by oxygen [found in wind jutsus] & without oxygen, it will die out. However, if you add more wind to the fire, the flame will increase in potency and possibly size. On the other hand, futon is strong against raiton, or lighting. This is because it "insulates" [or stops] the natural flow of lightning. To make it simple, raiton can not function properly when faced up against wind-based attacks and will be overpowered by it. Besides creating Hyouton, Wind can be added to suiton techniques to increase its power [like katon] and it's traumatic force.
When used simultaneously used with suiton, this combo create Hyouton [Ice Release]. When combined with katon, it creates Shakuton [Scorch Release]. When it is simultaneously used with both katon & doton, it creates Jinton [Dust Release], also known as a kekkei tota.

Haha XDCombinations you could make with this jutsu: Because this jutsu is mainly used to blind my enemy, I would use "( Katon: Karyūdan ) - Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet" to unleash many projectiles at my blinded opponent. With the dirt covering their sight, they would be unable to react fast enough.
Ways to Counter: I would use "(Fūton: Kaze Gaeshi) - Wind Style: Wind Return" to redirect the attack and would blind them with dust instead.
Uses of this technique (Battle orientated and non-battle orientated): If I were to be facing a strong opponent, I would use this to make a quick escape while my opponent is blinded [assuming you can do that]

I would highly recommend that you don't use substitution to escape from a D rank wind jutsu that doesen't even harm you o____oCombinations you could make with this jutsu: I could use (Gokan Sakusou) - 5 Senses Confusion Disorder to further confuse my already blinded opponent. Before attacking.
Ways to Counter: To counter the blindness of the jutsu I could use
(Kawarimi no Jutsu) - Change of Body Stance Technique to change my position. To a area further away from the 'infected' area.
Uses of this technique (Battle orientated and non-battle orientated): During a Taijutsu battle, I could blind my opponent before unleashing a hellish attack on them. Be it Taijutsu or Ninjutsu

Substitution technique: any technique that has this name fall under this category and will suffer from its restrictions. Not only that but don't forget that its not what everyone claims it to be. The standard sub we have all seen being used by ninjas from the first episodes and onward, is a combination of 2 skills/techniques: body flicker and transformation technique. You use a body flicker-like movement to change places with an object you transform into a replica of yourself. You can seemingly move instantly to a different place withle your opponent believes he hit you. Now, this requires you to A) have a nearby object at hand, B) perceive the attack (you need to know its coming as it needs your consicious input and your focus and will to work; its not automated) and C) be in a situation where its possible to move. If you are inside a water prison you cannot use it.
Nothing to add here really, just make sure to read the above.Combinations you could make with this jutsu: I personally would use Fire Release: Small Fire Stream because the enemy is already confused, and making it harder for him to breath would leave him even more vulnerable
Ways to Counter: I agree with Hatako, Wind Style: Wind Return is the perfect counter to this jutsu.
Uses of this technique (Battle orientated and non-battle orientated): I would use it to confuse my opponent for a short moment so that I can attack/retreat or so that I could perform a jutsu/move which takes a longer time to perform.
