Yes, Sakura is smarter than Ino. But I hope you realize that academy grades don't always have to do with intelligence. It has to deal with Battle prowless, being able to work in the ninja field, strategy, team work, and intelligence.

That's why in the databook, Ino got the highest. Because after the Uchiha clan massacre, Sasuke wasn't wanting to work with others.

Rookie Sasuke was leagues ahead all of the other rookies.

He was as fast as Haku. Could do Fire Style. The best Taijutsu user besides Lee (Who wasnt a rookie)

Intelligent. Second to only Shika. Mature.

Naruto sucked. Sakura was great at the time because chakra control, and she was clever with substitutions. Other than that she was weak

No, at that time it was Shikamaru>Sakura>Shino>Ino and Hinata>Sasuke. Shikamaru had a 5/5, Sakura has a 3.5/5, Shino has a 3/5, Ino and Hinata both had a 2.5/5 in intelligence, and then Sasuke had a 2/5. (Don't get angry, I don't like it either. Sasuke is my favorite character.)

Maybe Haku's speed without crystal ice mirrors, but Haku using that jutsu is faster than Sasuke or even lee (without using gates) in part 1.

As an overall ninja, he was ahead of all the rookies in the beginning by a lot. Except debatably Shino. Ino may have gotten the overall highest score, but she wasn't as battle prone as those two.

Sasuke did not have Sharingan until Land of Waves arc.

He awoken it against Itachi at age 7. He was so traumatized that he didn't know he did until the waves arc.

Naruto had the resistance, Sakura had the brains, Sasuke had the tactics. Chuunin exams proved it for every group formed.

OP: Come on, man. Sasuke was hailed as a prodigy even then. He had splendid Shuriken-jutsu, Ninjutsu, speed, and Taijutsu. He was in no way a Genin, when he took on two Chunin in the forest during their mission effortlessly. Sasuke was leagues ahead of his class. The other two were terrible, but at least Naruto was a proficient Kage bushin user. Sakura? A burden. Should have just fed her to the serpents.

Sakura was smarter in part one and the beginning of part 2. Now it's debatable. She just has more emotions that cloud her judgement.

But overall, Sasuke was easily chunin level in databook 1.

Smarter than Sasuke? I highly doubt it, when there is a clear inner-monologue from Shikamaru that he looked up to Sasuke on all aspects. Not to mention how quickly Sasuke learned Katon on his own and managed to reach that level when his entire clan was dead; meaning, no one from the clan was there to teach him anything.

Those Databook stats are pointless.

Sasuke trained alone for katon mostly (then he showed to his father); and after he lost the clan at the age of 7 he trained for further improving his skills.

even though sasuke didn't have any really great powers, he had above average speed and could use all the ninja tools with extreme proficiency. his fireball jutsu were also really good. pretty sure sasuke could have taken on anyone in his class with the exception of neji and lee.

EDIT: I don't think lee even became strong until after he trained with guy as well so sasuke > lee at this point in the manga.

naruto and sakura were dead weight at this point.

No not necessary .

If you had the answers in your head you dont need to cheat .

For sasuke he didnt knew the answers than he figure out they want them to cheat .

BUT at the end the cheating was pointless it was not the whole consept of the test .

Naruto didn't cheat or write anything yet he passed because he didn't try to quit.

Those are The other consepts (not giving up /loyal to temate) .

I edited it. It's definitely possible for Zabuza to win, but it depends on location.

Sakura was with a group, not alone when they encountered Orochimaru. Sasuke was the smartest who chose to relinquish the scroll before him. At that time, he obviously didn't know about his intentions. She obviously had ninja tools. Shikamaru has made use of tools a lot of times through strategy, so has Sasuke. And both of them have made the most of group scenarios as well. Where does that put Sakura?

Those guys were simply playing with her. If you call that usefulness, then I guess I agree with you. Lol And Sasuke was the one who actually ended the battle. Lee was the one who actually bought time. Don't give someone else's feats to Sakura.

Do you know how she even learned it? It must have been simple repetition for all I know. There is no manga proof to this, hence this 'book-ish girl is smart' argument is completely without weight.
