In my honest opinion, Kabuto, for reasons such as: -

Lost his family and memories as a toddler via brain trauma.

Mocked by his peers for being behind in knowledge.

Drafted into the military as a child.

Ordered to invade numerous armies as a spy, constantly fearing for his life, changing his personality all the time, and never keeping friends.

Tricked into killing his adoptive mother, the only person who had ever been truly kind to him.

Erased from history and replaced by the very village he worked to aid.

Forced to take protection from and work for a psycho mass murdering dictator/terrorist.

What do you think, plus don't be biased :)

Itachi or probably Nagato, because Itachi's story is out of this world, that guy killed his entire clan, his mom, his dad, I can't even think about doing it..
And Nagato, he has gone through a lot, lost his parents, and then his friend, and used by others for their plans..

i get the highest feeling of tragedy and sorrow when i look at kisame`s life.if you look closely at him you see that him being tough is only a shell...what lies within is a fragile and hurt being who just wanted a place to belong...and friends...

It's Obito .

He never lived in an era which had peace , and seeing your love getting killed by your bestfriend and getting brainwashed by a weirdo is the worst thing .

+ Obito was an orphan .

#Everyone forgets the kids who lived in a era with brutal war... but focuses on kids like Gaara/Naruto/Sasuke..... kind of weird.

No one ever mentions: Madara, Hashirama...

But uh Naruto's is the most tragic, if you look at it from a bird's eye point of view.

I agree on Kabuto's back story being the most tragic, it touched my chest man.

But nagato was blessed with visual powers and also best friends, while kabuto had nothing and no one. I agree with your itachi statement, he even mentioned they've both been through a lot.

It's not like you must live in era of brutal war to have the most tragic back story, common example is Naruto or Itachi, as I mentioned before Itachi is one of those guys who went through a lot...:yeah:

Kabuto went through a lot, I agree, but soon he came across Orochimaru who gave him a goal in life. Nagato who went through a lot of things throughout his life, even was told to kill his best friend, lost his parents and a lot of things.
In fact each and every story from Naruto is tragic, it's impossible to compare them.

he chose that road, it wasn't like he was like that from the start, he made wrong decisions and u can see it in the latest chapters him regreting it, i honestly don't feel sorry for him, since he values 1 life over the entire ninja world , just my 2 cents

Obito's life story still is tragic; he's had no one for the past 16 years and he still has no one. This scan sums it up:

imo, Kabuto's life story was the most tragic, unlike Obito, Kabuto's had no one from the start. And then you get Nagato, a shinobi who had no one, found friends and then saw them die.

I can't relate to Itachi, Kishi's portrayed him as a Jesus-like character in Naruto so I'm not too fond of his story, although, when he was about to kill his parents, that part made me feel way too much.

No , you're wrong .

@BOLD - He clearly admitted that he isn't doing this for Rin , and he would not regret it if Naruto wasn't there . He asked Kakashi how can the hole be filled if you stay in this world , and Kakashi replied to him that friends needed . He is regretting it because he forgot what the love of friends mean . + He didn't chose to follow that path , he chose to be the saviour , even Madara said that . He put the mask on his face for the good of the world .

I still believe it's Sasuke...

His entire clan was murdered in his eyes by his older brother as a 7 year old.
He was chased down & Tsukuyomi'd & pretty much traumatically driven to kill his older
brother for his childhood & teenage life.

Try watching your family die right in front of your eyes, get stalked and assaulted physically and mentally by your older brother, and see how normal you'd turn out.

Did I say you had to? lol...... But being raised in a war where killing kids was the main thing puts Hashirama and Madara ahead of the others.

Killing his clan , was Itachi's own personal choice.. could've been avoided... the tragedy was that he was put into that situation.

i wouldn't call it tragic, to be honest i'd call it mentally incompetent...instead of facing his friend for reasons why he killed his crush, he goes crying, and wants to kill everyone...wheres the logic behind that, thats just selfish and dull.

but, i agree with ur other statements :)

okay , so waging a war, killing numerous people, planning to put them in a world of illusion without there say makes him the saviour , plz enlighten me how so ?

fedra, Sasuke, Nagato
Branded a monster by village, and even his own father tried numerous times to have him killed.
Sasuke Witnessed the death of his parents, betrayed by his beloved brother, lived alone since he was 8, fed himself on hatred to keep going, put under a genjutsu where he relived the massacre, killed his brother just to find out that his brother was being manipulated by the village.
Nagato- grew up on the street as starving orphans, inadvertently killed his best friend.
