Madara is indeed more better in the fighting department as Obito does a lot of talking but still Madara is too redundant to be final villain.

obito's made him cry like at least 3 times and almost made naruto give up

Obito has been beating Naruto up and down the battle field, Naruto actually was brought to tears during the fight. He also almost gave up twice, and Pain had Naruto pinned for a part of the fight.
