strategic battles or overpowered ninjutsu battles

I wanna know if you guys like strategic battle or overpowered ninjutsu. Basically compare any shikamaru fight vs a Naruto fight. Part 1 and Part 2. To me shinobi have to be smart in battle but i also what some ninjutsu. Shikamaru did that but to me all Naruto did in battle was simple. Either come in regular nine tails op jutsu or op already ninetails talk ends everything. Shikamaru entertains me he makes it feel like a actual ninja with ninjutsu strategy and comedy anime. I just want your opinion if you respect mines i respect yours.






Not hating on Naruto he is a good character not my favorite. Ill make another thread for whos your top 5 favorite character later today.

Well i like part 1 because of taijutsu and the jutsus weren't that OP except for itachi's MS. In the fights you have to be a little smart to win.

Naruto strategy vs Pein was pretty damn good, even if he doesn't plot out everything ten steps in advance like Shikamaru. I'd rather watch his fights where he just has good intuition and automatically knows what to do with his OP jutsu than watch Shikamaru's. No disrespect to Shikamaru either because he's an incredible character but Naruto's are most interesting in my opinion.

Seriously though, everyone's right with the fact that part 1 is much better. Some fights in part 2 were good but they had more action than strategy.

Strategy fights are by far the best.


Whole some small measures of strategy exists, it isn't as great as could be.



Balance between Strategy, Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and Genjutsu need to be there. Ninjutsu has taken way too much foreground.

Fights like the Hidan and Kakuzu fight were closer to the best/ideal battles as they appropriately mixed Taijutsu, ninjutsu, and strategy... Just happened no one used Genjutsu there

No, he uses feints - that's a very basic thing to do and it's because it's basic that high ranking shinobi fall into the trap.

I prefer shikamaru and kakashi fights
