Why do people get so riled up in this Naruto vs Sasuke thing? Isn't it obvious that in the end, Naruto will be stronger? After all, the manga is called NARUTO. It should be no surprise that the main character surpasses their rival. That's how most shounens are after all..

People have this weird conception, that Kishimoto keeps Sasuke equal to Naruto. Even though he said they progress as PAIRS. Pairs do not = equals.

ALL RIVALS, progress as pairs. But people also believe rivals means they are on the same level.. Just like Danzo and Madara's case.

It has constantly been hinted Naruto will be stronger.

incorrect. Sasuke's my favorite but he needs to lose. Him winning allows for no character development. A character can only realize their mistakes when they have lost. The only way to rise is to fall.
If Sasuke wins, then his revenge is justified. Sasuke needs to realize that his way is not the best and not the only way. He needs Naruto to offer him a hand to help him up.
He needs to lose this fight to overcome his inferiority complex
He needs to lose this fight in order to surpass Madara. Madara lost and continued on hs evil ways. Sasuke needs to lose and realize he has made mistakes that need to be corrected

You are easily one of the best Sasuke fan---fans in general I've seen on the site. You actually care for your characters development outside of power-ups.
