True, I think naruto already inherited the sages soul. This might sound crazy but i think kishi might be ripping off Avatar the last air bender. With the whole avatar gets passed down thing, Fact one he has the rinnegan and can use all element :] I think Hashi will go first and fail. The others will leave and let the big boys go at it. Naruto will be depleted of chakra down to his last ounce, he will be force to use the chakra that he got from the other Bijuu ( he got it after he freed them from obitos control) and this will be what activates Narutos Bijuu mode It will probably allow him to talk to the Sage like how Aang can talk to Roku and the other Avatar.

Naruto's Will is on par with Hashirama. Surpassing Madara is being measured by power. Surpassing Hashirama is being measured by leadership. Naruto and Sasuke are on par with their counterparts non-edo right now I believe
