Did the Sword bring out Obito's feelings/flashback?

Obito stated that the sword contains the will and soul of the Sage of six paths, could it be that sword connected him to another realm where he was still good and became hokage? That would explain why the sword broke?

And was that sword creation of all things? obito stated that it created the universe.. :yeah:

Could also have been Kakashi he realized they are connected so perhaps he used that to his advantage.
