Let's say for instance I missed the event, when Poketransfer is released would I be able to transfer a torchic from a previous game to my pokemon x and slash or y, or is it event only?

The event ends January 15th. So if you get it for like Christmas, you would still be able to get Torchic.

The only reason why this Torchic is special is because it comes with the Mega Evolution stone and it's Hidden Ability, which can only be gained through Mystery Gift.
