There's been miscommunication here. You sounded like you were saying that as long as you have faith in God, nothing bad will happen to you at the hands of another. My post was to say that's not true.

No there is no miscommunication at all only a misunderstanding in your part. When i give my life to God I give my way of living for his way. His way to life is shown to me through the bible. You obviously have never read the bible. Let me just warn you that Gods people are no pushovers

Judgment is only for the almighty

That's a common misconception, and it's not biblical. Christians, in fact, are called to judge others.

There are allot of contradictory things in religion too
If God is an forgiving God, why is there a hell?
I dont believe in hell, I think he will just leave the physical plane and move unto a higher plane of existence, on similar to our imagination.

I think I only think this way because I am just that type of person who rebels against the sysytem, I like to question things, and I am independent, and have a superiority complex but an inferiority complex about my superiority complex.

To me all religion are correct to a certain extend because we are all connected, but humanity forces them to manipulate the ideals to their needs, to gain power and control

So you're a postmodernist? lol

If God is a forgiving God why is their hell?

God created perfection, with free will. Meaning he gave them a choice to stop being perfect, so that they wouldn't be mindless drones.

There has to be punishment. Hell.

But everyone can be forgiven.

(sorry if I sound like I'm preaching I'm just trying to convey my answer)

If I may interject, the world was never created perfect. God said it was 'good.' Good is not perfect. Just a minor knit pick.

OT: I believe in the Christian God of the Bible, yes. :)

Why do you keep saying "us"? This became a hot thread in less than 30 minutes, so people obviously care.

Scientific Law:Energy cannot be created or destroyed.

Energy was always here. And always will be. It has no origin or end. Sounds like God to me.

Thats all Im saying. If we cant find the origin of energy we cant possibly say God is or is not real

The God in the bible seems to human like and narcissistic. I would say it's insulting God. Who was made to instill fear into people and to explain natural occurrences probably caused by humans trying to domesticate nature.

The truth is and you can quote me on this
"People only call on a God when they need or want something, they try to devote himself to a higher power not out of respect but out of greed, no one is pure, it something that I want to be, but I can no longer find it, there is no such thing as a selfless act, we do things to benefit us one way or another, we are constantly writing our own thread in life.

I insult and curse God. For a man who said he does not believe him, it brings me closer. He is getting the best of me by blessing my life. I hate him. He is always smiling down upon me.

Just today I allowed an old lady to take my spot in line and thus i would have to go to the back of the line. That was a selfless act. You see noone can be pure and holy like god but we can sure strive to condition ourselves to come close.

The Bible teachers one to be slaves.

It was introduced in a time of poverty, a time where the poor accepted being slaves.

it encourages you to obey, to be ignorant and not seek answers. It made slavery ok and encouraged the slaves to obey.
There were no heroes, no warriors to stand up. it didn't cherish strength and innovation.

When Man bounded together to build a great tower God himself confused them by creating different languages. It was God who separated the people, created tension and put them at war. it was god who allowed one to enslave another
and it was god who killed them because he decided that they were not obeying. Then afterwards talks about free will.
Jesus comes down and talks about how God is about love and unity, but it was GOD who divided mankind. It was God who put women under men. It was God that put slaves under Masters and it was God that put Man over beast.

I have to do Bible studies for an hour every Saturday and I've been doing it for over 3 years. To say I have never read the Bible is an ignorant and incorrect statement. Anyways, my views are not based on a lack of reading the Bible, but because I have read it and have grown up in a largely and dedicated religious family. If a guy comes into your house and threatens to kill you, God won't be stopping it. You'd be foolish to think he would. If you have faith, good for you. All to you then. But don't try to pretend that God makes you any more safe than me.

Anyway, living for God? I don't quite like that ideal. I see nothing wrong in praying or worshipping God and being thankful for what he's done for you. But I don't quite like the idea of dedicating my entire existence to God, especially since I harbor some dislike towards who God is as a person. I'd rather just try to use his teachings as a basis for being a decent person while living my life to the most I can possibly make of it.
