Is Curse Mark = Sage Mode, Or < Sage Mode?

I want to get a general consensus for a future thread.

I think it's more or less equal, but what do you guys think?

It's incomplete. I believe Orochimaru himself stated it. It gives similar effects, like enhancing techniques, faster mobility, better Taijutsu, but not on SM level. Think of it like this:

Curse Mark gives a 1.5 multiplier to your abilities

AND

SM gives a 3.0 multiplier to your general abilities. Same application, but on a different scale.

This guy summed it up pretty nicely. The curse mark uses natural energy but is no where near the level of actual sage mode.

Well curse mark warps the users mental state and makes them lose their mind but negatively affects their body afterwards but sage mode augments the users senses and multiplies their strength. so IMO sage mode > curse mark

But anyway I want to clear this all up for you, it's true that Jugo has a curse mark from orochimaru, but jugos clan also has the ability to gather natural energy, that's why he can speak to birds and stuff like that

This pretty much. Sage Mode is superior. Also, Curse mark has side-effects and drains your chakra pool from constant use. Sasuke's chakra reserves improved greatly after his curse mark was removed, it leeches on your chakra. SM is also one completely in sync with nature, with crazy perception and and sensing, curse mark is just an incomplete, cheap version of it.

They're both SM, but DSM was better suited for the situation Kabuto used it in because of the inherent mobility effects it gave. It still has the same properties as TSM, but the transformation Kabuto went under gave him better dodging skills akin to a slithering snake (In which he retained things like Danger sensing, increased overall abilities and increased speed like TSM).

Curse mark is an adaptation of senin transformation not nearly as strong as SM and as most have said already it is incomplete remeber the curse mark killed most people sasuke was able to survive, on a completly unrealated note maybe sasukes is compatibale with the curse mark because his many greats ancestor invented sage mode
