Hi, everyone. I'm going to talk about topics that are extremelly polemic, so read carefully everything I write here. It's going to be big, so I'm sorry for that.
Essencial knowledge
For this thread, there are somethings that need to be known. I'll explain everything. If you know it, you can skip this part, but don't post anything that goes against these concepts.
- Respect and criticism: To be respected is a right of every citizen, it is a duty of everybody to respect the differences between the individuals. Criticism is different from disrespect. One can criticize anything(to criticize is to make an analysis of something using logic, evidences and facts to suport some idea), as long as he/she keeps it respectful. Criticism is part of our freedom of speech.
- Homophobia: To hate, to discriminate, to have the desire to segregate or harm(in any way) an homossexual for the very reason that the person is homossexual.
- Racism: To hate, to discriminate, to have the desire to segregate or harm(in any way) a person for the very reason that the person is from a different race than the "agressor".
Pay attention to this concepts, as they are very important.
The criticism
Now, I'm here to criticize something that has been made a lot since topics like this gained gigantic proportions. First, I'll give this 1 exemple of situations that happens in our society.
"-man, I'm proud to be black/homossexual
-way to go, dude"
vs
"-man, I'm proud to be white/straight
- YOU RACIST/HOMOPHOBIC DOUCHEBAG"
The proud person of the situation 2 was wrongly considered homophobic/racist. To be proud of a characteristc of yours is not a prejudice, is not a trial of discrimination against the "oposite group". It doesn't fit the concepts I've mentioned. By why does it happen, then?
Blind moralists say that the "opressed minorities" can express their pride, but the rest of society can't, because it would be an obvious atempt of discrimination. According to what these moralists try to defend: "the opressed minorities should have more rights, and they shouldn't be criticized, as they were/are opressed". They say that there is no racism against white people, there is no discrimination against straight people. So, if a group of black people hates white people only because they're white, it's fine, but the oposite is a crime. The same for homophobia.
This is a pathetic way of thinking. These thoughts and situation express the privileges that blind moralists are trying to give to what they called "opressed minorities". Privileges are not the way to reach equality. They will only increase the cicle of hatred between the groups. It's nothing more than repeating a mistake from our past. Besides, privileges are completely antidemocratic. There is no such thing as "making up for the past". Compensation/revenge for what people from the past did is not a way to get "equality". "Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it"
These situations also show that the blind moralists try to take awat some of the rights of the rest of the population, such as the right to express your pride and the right to criticize(both part of our freedom of speech). Again, a mistake from the past, and antidemocratic.
Black people and homossexual are citizens, and with citizenship comes rights and duties. They have/should have the same rights as the rest of the population, but also the same duties. The SAME, nothing more, nothing else. Prejudice and discrimination are forms of disrespect, and the same rules should be applied to them. Every citizen, everything is subject to criticism(the correct criticism, as the way I described above).
Conclusion
Giving the "opressed minorities" privileges and taking away the rights of the rest of the population is the same as repeating the same mistakes that were made in the past and harmed the life in society, it's antidemocratic and unfair to the current society. There is no "making up for the past", there is no compensation or revenge. As citizens, everybody has/should have the same rights and duties. This is equality.
Homophobia and racism are forms of discrimination, they are nothing more nothing less than a disrespect towards 2 especific groups.
The reason for them to be getting such gigantic proportions is the blind moralists and their pseudo-intelectualism, as they try to increase the proportions of the situations, to force homophobia and racism in situations that there was none, to take away basic rights such as freedom of speech, and to give privileges to the "opressed minorities", as I explained. They are only causing problems
So, let's use our brain. Everybody should be respected. Homossexuals and black people don't deserve a special type of respect. Just respect, as every other citizen. Let's cut off the blind moralism and analyse these problems with logic and intelligence. I'm pretty sure that with this, problems such as these can be solve in an easier way.
PS: Read everything that is essencial, then comment. It's better for the conversation.
Thanks for the attention, sorry for the "wall of text".
