His ability is OP as hell. He can fly high in the air and drop bombs, in a world with very little anti air. He just happens to get the bad luck of going up against guys who can fly(Gaara, CM 2 Sasuke, Onoki), or guys with massive plot no jutsu on their side(the commando unit).

I daresay Kishi underestimates the power of explosions. They never seem instant and have no shockwaves. Remember how team Kakashi + team Guy had some time to talk even before Kakashi Kamui'd Deidara's exploding clone while it was already exploding? Or how those Suna guys had their faces blow off instead of, you know, half their bodies? So those explosions don't even seem powerful.

More realistically, yeah, Deidara would have been OP. And deaf :|

You know I previously made a thread that Edo Deidara with his full potential was capable of defeating Itachi. :yeah: He would have intel on him along with his left eye so Itachi's genjutsu wouldn't work. Deidara would also remain in the air on his clay bird so Susano wouldn't be able to touch him. Eventually he get's the clay mines to kill Itachi from underneath his feet. =D

Deidara is my favorite akatsuki member. I admit, he was trolled by Kishi when he was revived but I would LOVE to see a real fight Sai vs. Deidara. They're both quick in the air, and use explosives. Deidara is stronger, but I'd still be so ecstatic if I saw like a full canon fight between the two.
