Well.. as for the reason of spreading the symbols through the media..I'm not too certain.
The pyramid with the 13 steps symbolize the building blocks of spiritual and intellectual enlightenment with the chief corner stone ( triangle eye) hovering above it which symbolizes the fact that we, as a whole, cannot grasp that ..knowledge? It is out of our reach. So, we're just stuck living as a slave species, slowly but surely heading to absolute slavery of the mind and body.

In the city of Roma you have 13 egyptian obelisks.You can make a litle research what symbolize an egyptian obelisk.These obelisk appears in Paris,Washington and many other places.Then in the St. Peter's Basilica's place you have many status of saints with in front of basilisk, an egyptian obelisk.It's always astonishing to see people doesn't ask themself.What an egyptian obelisk is doing in front of Vatican's church,it's nosense, and it's just a sample of exemples.

Isn't that alot like a religion? I mean theres is the entity that is omnipresent and humans in this world will never be able to attain his level of knowledge. Correct me if I'm wrong but you've always kinda against religion right?
The Illuminati is actually a real secret society that did exist. the conspiracy theory about it is that they are secretley around plotting.
open a book, do research its a real group. the problem which alot of people confuse with it is that Stars on tv or even in the music industry are not part of it.
The illuminati has many goals, but their main one is to a "New World Order".
what drives them to do this? well even if one whos religious or even not religious understands this is not obviously a good thing
Well you almost indeed correct about people who believe in the illuminati getting things confused.
but i hate to break the facts to you it once was a real secret society thus they are not wrong. do you research on it. the conspiracy theory is that they survived and are now controlling the world.
Non religious people believe in this stuff to, so being religious has really nothing to do with it, it has to do what you see as right and wrong.
"Who are the Illuminati?"
-A secretive cult that is believed to be the evil power elite of the world who steer the world in their envision of a New World Order.
"What do they want?"
-They want a New World Order with their preferred means to ruling the planet, whether it be a specific god or a type of government/reign over the masses. Most commonly used in religious contexts of the Catholics, believing they are the #1 cult in serving Lucifer, bent on destruction of all humans.
"Why do they want that?"
-Who knows why they actually want to have such a goal. Who knows if they even exist. I view them more of a scapegoat for people when things go wrong.
ie. "My brother was shot, I'm angry and want revenge, I blame the Illuminati!"
"Why is it that I hear about them only through entertainment news?"
-Just as I said in prior comment, it's a scapegoat. For large scale disasters such as 9/11, Boston Bombings, etc. people want to know these questions. Why did this happen, how did this happen, who did this to us? Since the first 2 take awhile to find through investagation and the human is natural for being impatient, we want an answer ASAP. What easier to say then to say Who did it, most common being the Illuminati.
Also, Entertainment News is often bias in their beliefs. Who ever is the large force funding the specific channel may have the higher say. For instance, if it's a Religious channel, clearly, whatever religion it is for most likely will be the religion funding it. So Catholic for example might have a few of it's program say it's the Illuminati since their "Arch-Rival" in the world is the Illuminati.
Further more, it's used often because so little is known. We say we have proof such as signs everywhere of possible people who were members, but the fact is we don't really have solid proof on their existence. That's why it's used in a humorous way such as "I broke my cup, Illuminati is behind it!", as for other similar groups with different beliefs like the Freemasons which we know for a fact they exist and how they go about things, so it wouldn't be as funny to blame everything on a cult like that.

Illuminati [Etymology: Plural of Illuminati; Enlightened] refers to a Bavarian Organization/Secret Society that were generally Anti-Church and Liberal. Supporters of Women-Rights, Gender and Racial Equality and were against prejudice toward any collection of people. Eventually they got suppressed and disbanded in 1785. They no longer exist.
I think most people that have not even a single clue of all that involves 'Illuminati' immediately think of some divine deity being involved. All they see is satan worshipping in the music media which has nothing to do with demon stuff.
All physical matter are the result of a frequency and ancient civilizations understood that and other things very well.
All across the globe you'll find sacred geometrical patterns that are in fact the result of amplifying sound frequencies.
I think we used to be in a age in which we understood our origins and the fundamental building blocks of our reality.
Maybe we've been thrown into a dark age by whatever controlls us till present day. Maybe biblical figures tried to raise our collective consciousness but their teachings were altered by ''them'' and formed into worshipping systems aka religion to keeping our level of thinking at a limited state and to delude us from the actual meaning of biblical scripts.
I'm not necessarily against religion man :/ I'm against the wrong interpretations of it and all the cultural and religious dogma that comes with it.
In short, I think Illuminati was just a bundle of intellects that were not assimilated by the authorities. Later on, they got infiltrated and now church and state use their symbols for whatever reason. Maybe mocking us, idk. Funny though, the Pope has a staff with a premature cone pine on it that symbolizes our pineal gland. So, they want to keep our pineal glands premature and unused. Slave species.
