[Debate] Are gay people humans

I'd say about 60 percent of the threads in this section turn into religious debates. It always ends up that way, you could be talking about anything and it gets turned into a religious debate.

I suppose the only logical thing for me to do is leave when it starts.

Usually threads that involve religion at some point for no reason involved is understandable to be acting bad towards it, however I feel threads with issues like these where it's usually influenced by it is kind of tolerable (well for me anyway)

Gay person here. Personally, I don't think we're born with it, but it's not a choice. To put it simply, due to the experiences we had as a child, it developed my sexuality subconsciously. Key word subconsciously, I have no control over what my subconscious does. Not sure what exactly it is that shaped it, but it's something. (This is my own theorizing, no proof to back it up). I don't want to be gay. I don't like being gay. But it's my reality and I'm going to accept that fact as part of my life.

Ooh! That was a question posed just a week ago if I remember correctly. I pointed out a clear possibility (enough to give you a B+ in percentage value) that we are born with our preferences. But unfortunately, not too many people cared enough to read or just flat out refused to give it a try



But religion is clearly at the heart of this matter, because religion is the only sect besides "I don't like it; it's icky" that opposes homosexuality.

Think about this. Can you stop liking girls? Do you have the ability to not sexualize a woman when you see them? You really don't. Then also do the opposite and start sexualizing guys when you see them. It just doesn't happen. Our sexual preferences are second nature, the sexual thoughts we have when we look at someone happen by instinct really to be honest with you.

I mean :|. It's not like that. I know I will never ever be attracted to females, I know I can't stop sexualizing men. It's not like I get angry at myself for sexualizing men because I know that's just apart of who I am. It's just that life would be much easier if I was straight, so I'd much rather be straight. I don't like the fact that I'm gay due to the difficulties that come with it, but I'm not going to live life miserably to try and hide the fact that I'm gay.

I am curious about your perspective on it, though. You say it's not a choice, but not genetic either. Would you say it's a mixture of genetics and psychological developments tinkered through your environment and time?
