I came across a random bit of info that a lot of people may not know.

So, starting with the Hidan&Kakuzu arc, we started getting 720/1080p versions of all episodes. However, most of the episodes are still NOT made in true HD. Most of them are still made in Standard Definition(SD), and are enhanced/scaled up to 1080p. There is a big quality difference between the true HD episodes and the enhanced ones.

Here is an example to compare

Episode 332 (one of the eps produced in True High Definition)

Episode 329 (one of the eps produced in Standard Definition)

Both screenshots are taken from the 1080p releases, but if you pay attention to the line sharpness you can clearly see that episode 332 is much sharper.

This is a list of the episodes that were produced in *TRUE HD*, any episodes not listed are Standard Def enhanced.
153, 158, 159, 161, 165, 168, 169, 173, 174, 175, 177, 181, 185, 189, 193, 197, 201, 205, 209, 213, 217, 219, 220, 221, 225, 229, 233, 237, 241, 245, 250, 253, 257, 261, 265, 269, 271, 272, 273, 277, 281, 285, 288, 289, 296, 300, 304, 308, 312, 316, 320, 324, 328, 332.

check your source, man.it's wrong, not entirely but it is.
from box set 14 every episodes are in hd,btw true hd is 1080i not 1080p so there is no true hd. As for ep. released in box set before 14 are sd or stretched hd with some real hd episodes.

anyway i don't see any difference.

I don't get the point of having large blocks of the same color in "HD". This isn't some Pixar cartoon with a ton of detail on each character. It only makes sense if you watch it on a big screen, I guess.

Then I'm afraid you might need glasses. If you compare any of the episodes in that list to an episode not listed, there is a clear difference in sharpness.

If you can't see which one of these images is sharper, then I don't know what to tell you.

True, there's a difference in sharpness and his hair is more detailed, it does not have a single colour in the first picture, which I like.

The sharpness doesn't matter if the drawing and animation are bad. Which they are.

Idiot, that's just the meteor that created that shadow that's why his hair is one shade.

No, the episodes I listed at the bottom are made in HD. So around 25% of the episodes are full HD.

The rest of the episodes are actually produced in 480p, but what they do is enhance those episodes and scale them up to 1080p.

Basically those episodes are "fake HD", so they look worse compared to the episodes made in real HD.

Nope, if you see 322, his hair is like that the whole time, before even summoning the meteor. 322 had different animators and whatever-episode-the-next-panel-is-from had different animators.

True, there's a difference in sharpness and his hair is more detailed, it does not have a single colour in the first picture, which I like.

That's because in the second image, the meteor is blocking all the light. Your hair can't shine like in the first picture if there's no light.

I agree with razinzell, the artwork in the former picture makes me think that the artist was either a child or just not bothered. But, the second picture has great artwork and animation which is far more important. You must be quite an amateur because if you really knew about resolution and making comparisons, you'd know that comparisons are invalid if the scenes aren't the same.
