I believe in his prime hiruzen hype. However current hiruzen is all we have to work with. Therefore it doesn't matter what i believe.

Just like i believe Tsunade can live up to her taijutsu hype. However facts show a few ppl can beat her to it.

She is probably extremely dangerous in Taijutsu. Just trading blows with Tsunade would be very painful!!!

Seeing it again, It was kinda cool to see when Sasuke was still around as a good guy in the village. He probably misses those times with his team. =D

I know but people go by what they see in the manga. I'm sure we will see more from Hiruzen now he is back before the edos are gone. So just hope.

But I liked Tobirama for him, not his powers. What's the point of having feats if the character in unlikeable (in my case)

What makes him so unlikeable to you, that's what I'm curious about. Tobirama has a nice design, sure, but I get the feeling that most people who refuse to even give Hiruzen a chance dislike him generally because of his old age.

In all honesty, Naruto is the only manga I've read where the old characters are truly handicapped. Hiruzen had insanely low stamina in his old age, and Onoki has back issues. But in most of the mainstream manga, anyway, the older characters tend to be one of if not the strongest in the series. Yamamoto from Bleach; Makarov from Fairy Tail; Rayleigh, Garp, Whitebeard, and Sengoku from One Piece; Netero from Hunter x Hunter; and despite mainly being comic relief, Roshi from DBZ is ridiculously powerful, though definitely not the strongest.

That said, I understand that people don't want to acknowledge Hiruzen being a strong character unless they actually see something worth being impressed by; and the fact that Kishi kind of trolls him, but logically he should at least be worthy of being called Hokage if he got it in the first place. And I still have trouble understanding why people call him fodder.

There hasn't been anything shown from the manga to make me doubt his hype, therefore ima believe in it. People judge him although we only seen him fight in really one battle with Orochimaru, who is a powerful opponent. The panel where he was destroyed by Obito didn't do him any shame seeing as the other God of Shinobi got the same treatment. That being said until we actually see a legit reason to disprove his hype ima stick with the manga hype. Manga = Kishi indirect voice. Kishi = all knowing in NV. This is indisputable.
