Haha, it was never quite clear how a puppet fed him answers xD I guess the puppet was one less set of eyes watching while he looked off of others papers.

Maybe the examiners were designated people to watch, and Kankuro took out the one watching him when he escorted him to the bathroom

who knows? what if his puppet can record images it sees or what if kankuro can look through the puppet and see what it sees . Maybe the puppet snuck and took an answer sheet and got back with the answers .
