Is Sussanoo known about widely in Naruto?

Obviously Madara had it but do newer generations have knowledge about it? Orochimaru seemed surprised in the fight vs Itachi if i'm right.

Its fairly known but only by most leaders of other villages or philosophers like Oro who wanted to learn about all ninjutsu techniques. Itachi and sasuke really started to make a name of it. Oro surprised? The only thing I remember Oro being surprised about is the totsuka blade

i doubt it im sure your smart people know about it like how kakashi knew it but people in naruto seem stupid to me (like how an anbu didnt know who the 1st and 2nd hokage were) un less its just bad writing by kishi

In pt.1 it seemed like MS was secret and rare, but in pt.2 two of the most infamous ninjas in history had the MS and many Uchiha under Madara's leadership also had the MS.

Then of course Madara "died" about 50-60 years ago, but there were other Uchihas that either still had MS or knew of the MS, and of course tons of people from the other clans that either fought against and/or with the Uchiha should had known about them.
So how is it that other jutsus are known about, even if by oral tradition like Edo Tensei, while MS jutsus are all but forgotten about? How did Kakashi know what his MS jutsu was even called?

^ Kakashi can probably get his hands on some top secret intel and find out about its name, it might be possible that another uchiha before obito and kakashi had this MS jutsu but we probably might never find out haha
