should the sand defenses "absolute defense" nickname be removed?

gaara never used his absolute defense against naruto only lee and sasuke who's speed style allowed them to hit when he fought naruto gaara transformed which led to his defeat ironically

Gaara's sand is an Absolute Defense, but no defense is absolute. Along with Susano'o. the Rashoumon and Hakkeshou Kaiten, they are called as such because they are considered near-impenetrable.

The reason why it is "absolute" is because Gaara doesn't command it to defend him, it does it on its own free will.... he always defended, thus being an "absolute" defense. However, it is possible to get inside of the defense for instance, speed in lee's case, or raw power in madara's case. I still think it lives up to its name though. I mean he would of owned Deidira, just look at the giant ball of sand he almost captured him in, but he was a sneaky bastard and put his bombs inside the sand. Also when Gaara was fighting Madara, he was covering for the other Kage's asses with his sand, while protecting himself. I think he lives up to his title of KAZEKAGE!!!!

The reason gaara defense is called absolute is because it not done by him remember gaaras defense automatic it acts on its own to protect him and remember there is a two layer defense the sand in Gourd and the one he has on the amour shell of sand

An absolute defense is defined as a defense that is near impenetrable by most conventional forms of attack since no defense is truly 'absolute'. As such this directly implies that the jutsu has to be tangible in that the jutsu is directly blocking a physical object/attack with its own physical presence. Jutsu like Kamui and Izanagi are not considered an absolute defense despite thier usefulness in avoiding attacks because they do not directly impede the object/attack in some way shape or form.

Notice that ftg, body durability, kamui, izanagi/izanami are not on this list because they are in fact supplementary abilities that can be also used as a defense since supplementary techniques are supposedly abilities that directly affect the individuals physical capabilities. They are also techniques that do not directly impede an oncoming attack with any form of tangible means.
