. Follow the links throughout to try and get a good understanding. It's better than what any of these political "experts" on NB have to say.

Wont be the first time, in the end its all bluster and a power play. They can pass a bill that will square of the government but the republicans are trying to attach an anti obama care law in it.

Jk. Its only a big deal if you're employed by the government.

From what I read on the link Rikerslade gave, it also costs taxpayer money as we're loosing 2 billion dollars for the shutdown. That will, of course, be placed upon taxpayers in the form of more expense.

Good point. Maybe we should use that money to teach people how to spell 'losing'.

It is a pretty big deal. Nonessential governement agencies and functions will be shut down and taxpayers will be cost billions. It could also signal the death kneel of the Republican party, depending on how the American public takes this. Also stocks are expected to take a major hit. and the US's credit score will most likely fall again

Possibility: More destruction from the delinquent, who would get the wrong idea and bash most of the cities and cause riots, raising up the dollars in taxes which us taxpayers pay, adding more problems than what currently have. -sigh.

Reason or motivation: All because of Obamacare. Republicans not paying rent. Brittany Spears not singing. Jay-Z is black. I want justice.

You should probably understand that loosing is a correct word and I used it appropriately. Nice try though xd

Not at all. Loose means not fitting. Loosing would be the present participle of loose, which isn't used as a word.

verb (used without object)

to let go a hold.

As you can see, since we are using an estimated fiscal figure and not something actually tangible, this "2 billion dollars" can have a non-object verb alongside it and still be correct. But hey, this is English, the hardest language in the world for so many technicalities. Not too many people know the "special cases". ;)

Maybe they're closing a certain branch in it.
