I guess i share some base principles of both.

IDEAL: Ultimately we should aim for peace and unification; even if it means respecting each others differences.

TRUTH: The world is not like that. People are so divided, both in relation to nations against nations, and then extending to nations within themselves.

However, I disagree with the 'truth' notion that peace must be seized via forceful means. I also disagree with the 'ideal' notion that one day we will all be holding hands in peace and harmony.

Instead i believe that combined the two approaches can work together for a greater overall outcome. TRUTH+IDEAL. In order to bring unification find the middle ground within each nation which 'hopefully' should be based on Respect. And then extend that throughout to all. No matter what nation or creed. Respect oneself and know how to respect others. With a mutual goal of providing a better future world for the generations to come.

Realistically speaking tho (in the REAL WORLD) Governments have their own agenda, so true unification would not be obtainable as the policies of the 'Governments' will often always clash with the Principles of the people.

Lmfao... Sasuke, Obito, Madara, Danzo are the truth?!

How are these Uchihas not idealistic? I'm sure everything they've done has been a middle finger to logic :snick:

I mean Sasuke thought he could beat the Kages. No lie, he thought storming into the kage summit and killing the Kages was a) POSSIBLE and b) Somehow beneficial to his endeavors.

These Uchihas are idealistic, not realistic.

But in the real world I will go with TRUTH. Idealism only works when you're powerful and influential enough to sway people's opinions. Using force or any other tactic that involves "forcing" people into following you is obviously not what I mean.
Exactly, the Uchihas really aren't anymore realistic themselves if you think about it. You can choose truth but if you think methods used by some of the shinobi mentioned in the truth area... That's on you guys :yay:

IRL, I'm all about truth but I have a slight hint of idealism too.

I don't believe in any of the perspectives you described in your post.

I do believe peace can be achieved, whether it will or it will not in my opinion is something I have yet to adjudge.
The only possible occurrences of peace that I can contemplate are those that are caused indirectly or directly by a global crisis; the most likely outcome being mass deterioration of the majority of human populous and or environment. This could describe a plethora of effects although it mostly pertains to cessation of biotic factors. I believe these will be the derivatives of war (perhaps even one for peace, which is rooted in the loss of pieces of humanity in exchange for part of the dream), the evaporation of a major resource, or the accidental derailing natural biological system.

On the other hand I highly doubt that any analogous occurrences will happen with such a result. They are much more prone to cause the mass decay of the human population and possibly the total extinction of humans or even biotic factors in the biosphere. And all this is assuming they do happen, it is possible such drastic effects will not converge for some time, and until something of the sort has happened, I doubt peace can be achieved in any capacity. However I do not believe there is a truth, that peace can not be achieved.

I have no hope in humanity, I mean, take a look at our good Ol' American government, our government might shut down because our "leaders" can't agree on shit, how is that possible? People push their own agendas to further themselves in life, everyone is selfish in some why, and we are still animals like the rest of them. I'm definitely not leaning all the way on the truth side because I'm not trying to change anything, that is far from my control, I guess I'm like anyone else looking at things, letting shit happen, I've learned that I'm just going to have to take it up the as$, hopefully the drugs I took can relax mu sphincter.

Calling the 2nd category "truth" or "realistic" gives these pessimistic whiners validation to complain about how bad the world is (and thus do nothing to improve it). Why not strive for the best the world can be?

All those characters you mentioned are so full of shit , none of their ideals or so call truth makes any sense but to them .

I would go & choose Minato , he tries to make good of anything that's going on & doesn't b1tch about the world , he understands it & it's mature enough to know & do ...what is right at that very moment , I can also throw Kakashi & J-man in this category , this are characters that aren't full of BS ideals .

exactly this. Both do not work. Yin and yang cannot be used independently of each other. doing so is disastrous. the previous generations all favored one and that's why the world is messed up. yin and yang compliment each other. by balancing the two you can achieve good decisions that lead to peace. you can never get peace in the real world because no party can agree enough to achieve perfect yin-yang balance. but in a world as idealistic as Naruto you can achieve peace through balance

I want to discover the truth of this reality... I'd follow in Orochimaru's footsteps if I was a few more screws loose.
