Technical Definition: "The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice."

"As the loss of a human being inflicts enormous grief upon the individuals close to the victim, and the commission of a murder is highly detrimental to the good order within society, most societies both present and in antiquity have considered it a most serious crime worthy of the harshest of punishment. In most countries, a person convicted of murder is typically given a long prison sentence, possibly a life sentence where permitted, and in some countries, the death penalty may be imposed for such an act – though this practice is becoming less common."

So my question is, what is true murder?

What defines murder during war?

What is the "Lawful" Killing of a human being?

Is capital punishment right?

Keep away liberals.

Murder is unlawful killing, and the law is defined by the country you live, so they decide what is lawful and what is not. I guess people who don't belong to any country or are under any law can't murder.

Murder is killing someone with the actual intention to do so, well that's first degree anyway.

To me, taking a life at any point in time is murder. Whether for war, self defense, abortion, anything. But, circumstances do effect whether or not it's required of you for your own safety.

War? Naturally a soldier must do this.

Self Defense? Yes.

If a child being born has the potential to kill the mother, then it should [Unless the mother wishes it to stay] be aborted.

Anything else is honestly murder without reasonable cause. While both bad, one has a brighter note that you can fall back on.

Did you people even read? Because if you did you would realize the definition is in the OP.

OT:
Imo Killing someone in any way besides absolute self defense is murder.

I can't really say...

Don't think there should be something defined a such.

Imo it's not.

Murder is when you kill a person. You going to jail depends on the murder being unlawful or not

You provided the official definition so assume you mean personal definitions.
Any time that a life is taken against social norms.
Killing in war is justified because the government which is run by officials elected by the people are the ones who send soldiers to war. Its essentially a by proxy approval if you will.
Killing in defense of yourself or your property is justified because nobody should have to choose between death or loss of livelihood and a prison cell.
Killing someone because they slept with your wife caused you minor grievance or you just flat out hate them is not justified because society deems it too harsh a punishment.
Killing a convicted murderer is justifiable because if a state has voted for the death penalty then the majority of its citizens approve. The victims families are also typically given say in the punishment.
When it all comes down to it your life is only worth as much as everyone else says it is. That is one of the greatest truths of this world. Piss off enough people that the majority want you dead and your life doesn't mean shit.

Good.

So is it or is it not murder for soldiers of another country to kill soldiers under your government?

Murder, in my opinion, is the taking of any life, regardless if you're man, government, animal or God. Some murder is trivial, like stepping on a bug. Some murder is justifiable, like self-defense or killing spiders. Some is made to sound justifiable, like war. Some is just plain wrong, like homicide.

Is it just as justifiable to kill a rabbit as it is to kill a bug?

Depends on who you ask. Some people might say yes, others no. I say no because bugs, while alive, are more trivial than rabbits.

Good.

So is it or is it not murder for soldiers of another country to kill soldiers under your government?

Not as long as they abide by UN standards and the Geneva Convention. The line is a lot finer than you would believe. I've seen a few guys get sent back to the house just for pointing their weapons at the wrong person.
That said sometimes in war its all down to your judgment and they tell you that you just have to do whatever you feel you can live with.
