He should be on the front lines squaring off against Obito.He doesn't use Ninjutsu so the attacks will be effective. With Kyuubi chakra and the 3 best healers he can possibly survive 8th gate. Kyuubi chakra will not only make the 8th gate or any other gates more OP it will also decrease the side effects+ Sakura, Karin and Tsunade here to Heal him 7 gates side effect is gone and 8th gate is possibly survive able if the 3 heal him quickly. Kyuubi chakra alone gets rid of the 7th gate side effect.

Funny thing is Obito has Rinnegan therefor should be able to absorb chakra including senjutsu tech like Pain did, yet for some odd reason he is not. Logically Guy would be more effective than Naruto against Obito but he is being wasted on the side line.
